SMRPG. Some know it, some don't. Regardless, this game was Mario's debut in the RPG world. I personally think it's the best game on the SNES :P

SMRPG put Mario into the world of turn-based RPGs, with attacks, specials, items, equipment; everything people love about RPGs without losing the adventurous spirit of a Mario game. SMRPG had comedy, easter eggs, and is a LOT of fun.

Lets not forget the memorable characters: who could forget Mallow the white puffball who was raised by frogs? Or Geno, the doll possessed by a spirit to help Mario repair the Star Road. There were also lesser characters such as Frogfucius, Mallow's all-knowing frog grandfather, and Booster, the smelly villain who attempted to marry Peach.

Mario was accompanied by four others on his quest: Mallow, Geno, Bowser and Toadstool(Peach). Each had unique special moves, attacks, and items they could use.

SMRPG was the model for later RPGs such as the Paper Mario series and the Mario + Luigi series.

SMRPG has a lot of replay value and is a really great game. You can download it now on the Wii Virtual Console for 800 Nintendo points. Pretty good deal for a great game like this. As for collectors, you can find the SNES cart on eBay or various other sites.

So, that's SMRPG in a nutshell. Hopefully I'm not the only one who recognizes this as a great game :P
