    3: Sibling Rivalry

    1: Hero's Demise

It was a beautiful day in the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach sat outside, relaxing after Peach's latest kidnapping. They were grateful for a calm day where they could just sleep without worrying about Bowser.

However, the peace didn't last very long.

A battleship resembling a Koopa shell was flying above the Mushroom Kingdom with Bowser Jr. as its pilot.

"This battleship Papa gave me is awesome!" the young Koopa Prince exclaimed. "With this thing, I'll be SURE to kidnap the princess!" He pushed a button on the Shellship's dashboard and a telescope popped out. Bowser Jr. looked through the telescope and spotted Mario, Luigi, and Peach. "How stupid can they get? They'll never see this coming! Deploying Mini-Shell!" He pressed another button on the dashboard and the bottom of the ship opened, releasing a small, unmanned vehicle similar to the Shellship. Bowser Jr. picked up a remote control and started piloting the Mini-Shell over to Mario, Luigi, and the Princess.

The Mini-Shell was at ground level behind Peach. The top of the shell was open, allowing things to go in and out of it. Bowser Jr. activated a mechanical arm that dragged Peach inside the shell. He pressed a button on the remote control which made the shell slam shut. The loud clanging sound made Peach wake up.

"Mario! Luigi! Help me!" Peach called from inside the Mini-Shell. The two heroes immediately sprung up and jumped to the Mini-Shell. However, it moved away. The Shellship flew over to Mario and Luigi.

"Bowser Jr.!" Mario hissed. "I should have known!" Bowser Jr. piloted the Mini-Shell closer to the Shellship and moved them out of Mario and Luigi's reach.

"So long, suckers!" he gloated. "That's what ya get for lying down on the job!" He tried to escape, but suddenly, a huge crack opened in the ground under Mario and Luigi. They fell in, and the crack started sucking everything in with vacuum force. The Shellship and Mini-Shell got sucked into the crack. After sucking in various types of Toads, Goombas, Koopas, and aquatic enemies, the crack closed.

After landing, Princess Peach opened the Mini-Shell and look around. The Toads in the nearby area cheered when they saw their princess safe. There was no sign of Bowser Jr. or the Koopa Troop. However, when she looked down, Peach saw something horrible.

Mario and Luigi were crushed under the Mini-Shell. Only their heads poked out. Their breathing was labored and they were bleeding heavily.

    "Mario! Luigi!" Peach called.

"M-Mama Mia…" Mario managed to say. Then, he and Luigi closed their eyes and never opened them again. Suddenly, red and green patches of fog rose from the dead bodies. It was the spirits of Mario and Luigi. Peach was sure the spirits would go into another person. She would locate those people if she could. She needed help. Bowser Jr. was somewhere in that land, and could attack any time.

"Let's bury them," Peach said sadly. The Toads agreed. They dug a grave big enough for both the Mario Bros. and added a sign that said "Here lie the Mario Bros., Mario Mario and Luigi Mario, the great protectors of the Mushroom Kingdom. May they rest in peace." "There is enough debris here to build a castle big enough for all of us to live in," Peach said. "We should start working on that." The Toads gathered debris and began building a castle right outside Mario and Luigi's grave in New Bark Town, Jhoto.

Somewhere in Jhoto, a Toad doctor jumped for joy when he saw a red fog enter the room and float into a newborn girl.

Somewhere in Kanto, a Koopa doctor screamed in fear when he saw a green fog enter the room and float into a newborn boy.

Meh, I already wrote three chapters for this story.

    2: Red Soul, Green Soul

The Mario and Luigi Festival was a big event held by the Toads at Blackthorn City. All the Toads in Jhoto worked together to create this event. The Toads from Princess Peach's castle were especially excited, because they knew they would find the people with Mario and Luigi's spirits at this festival. The overall mood was cheery, and everyone was happy.

    Except for three people.

"Aw, come on! That's not fair!"

The Toad photographer glared up at the complaining person. The young man glared back. He was holding a baby girl with black hair who was dressed like Mario.

"Well, my printer printed two pictures, and you have to pay for both," the Toad said in a dry voice. "Unless you want me to call security and kick you out of here,"

The man sighed and finally paid the Toad for both pictures. He gave one to the Mario-girl. Just when he turned around, a green object flashed across the trees. His lavender eyes lit up with excitement.

"A shiny Beedrill! Perfect for my research," He put the Mario-girl on the ground and picked up a net. "Stay here, Mary." He ran off into the trees.

At the same time that was happening, a man in a black uniform was holding a baby boy with red hair and a Luigi outfit. A woman in the same uniform ran up to him.

"The police are heading towards our van!" she said in a tired voice. The man was so startled he dropped the Luigi-boy, revealing the red R on his uniform.

"OH CRAP!" he yelled. "We'll be busted for sure!" He ran towards the spot where the van was hiding, the woman close behind. The Luigi-boy was left next to the Mario-girl, whose father had apparently forgotten her. They sat there until the festival was packing up.

The Toads from Princess Peach's castle were preparing to leave. Two Toads got on the two Yoshis. Toad, Peach's retainer and the leader of Princess Peach's Toads, peered through the bushes and saw the Mario-girl and the Luigi-boy. When he saw them, he felt a strong feeling of calmness and safety.

"It's them," he whispered. "HEY, GUYS IT'S REALLY THEM!" he shrieked with excitement.

All the other Toads looked at him like he was crazy.

"What are you talking about, Toad?" a yellow-spotted Toad on a Yoshi asked.

"You see those kids over there?" he replied, pointing at the boy and the girl through the bushes. "They have Mario and Luigi's spirits! I could feel it!"

"What did you feel?" Yellow Toad asked.

"I felt calm, and safe. I felt like if I jumped into lava holding a Bob-omb, I'd still be safe. Like we always feel around Mario. You would know, Yellow Toad, since you and Blue Toad helped Mario and Luigi rescue the princess," Toad replied again.

Yellow Toad hopped off his Yoshi and said, "Blue Toad, we should see if they really have the spirits before they take them to Princess Peach,"

"Okay," Blue Toad agreed. He got of his Yoshi and peered through the bush with Yellow Toad.

They both had the same feeling they felt when they traveled with Mario and Luigi not so long ago. No matter how many enemies were in there way, or how deep they went into Bowser's territory, or how frightening the harsh deserts, icy tundra, toxic forests, or steep mountains, they would be safe because the two heroic plumbers were their to assist them every step of the way.

"It's them," the two Toads said at once. The other Toads stepped up to the bushes to look at the babies.

"Wow! They even have the clothes!" one Toad exclaimed. Toad went through the bush and carried the babies to the Yoshis. He put Mario-girl on the green Yoshi and Luigi-boy on the light blue Yoshi.

"All right! Let's go through Dark Cave and back to the castle!" he yelled. The other Toads cheered, and began to walk back.

Just as their group turned their backs, the young man who had tried to catch the shiny Beedrill walked back to the clearing where the festival had been.

"I didn't get it, Mar-" he began. However, when he looked down, his daughter the Mario-girl was gone. "OH NO!" he yelled. "I lost my daughter! This day sucks! I had to pay for a useless extra picture, I couldn't catch the shiny Beedrill, and now I lost my daughter!" He sat down and cried.

Meanwhile, the Toads and Yoshis were travelling through Dark Cave. They didn't need the TM Flash because they didn't have any Pokemon and one of the Yoshis had a Glow Block in his mouth. Most of the Toads stayed in the back, leaving the two Yoshis to stomp and swallow the hostile wild Pokemon. However, Toad, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad helped stomp the wild Pokemon because they had traveled with Mario before and knew how to fight.

Soon, they exited the cave and found themselves on the calm, grassy Route 29. They could see Peach's Castle. They jumped down from a ledge and found themselves in New Bark Town.

The only reason the town was big was because of Peach's castle. There were three other buildings. Two of them were houses, but the other one was the lab and home of Pokemon Professor Elm and his family.

The Toads crossed the drawbridge to the castle and knocked on the door. They bowed in respect to Mario and Luigi's grave. Even Mario-girl and Luigi-boy bowed in respect to the old bodies of their spirits. Soon, a Toad opened the door for them. Toad ran into the throne room, where Peach was sitting.

"Princess Peach! I have exciting news!" he exclaimed as the rest of the group entered the room. "I found the kids with Mario and Luigi's spirits!"

"Really? Let me see them." Princess Peach replied. Blue Toad and Yellow Toad picked up Mario-girl and Luigi-boy and showed them to Peach. She studied them for a while. "It really is them," she said to herself. "Very well then! I think we should name them," She looked at Mario-girl. "I name you Mario* Mario," She then turned to Luigi-boy. "I name you Luigi Mario. May the two of you grow strong to battle the ever-growing threat of the Koopa Troop."

The Toads started celebrating the newest incarnation of their heroes.
