Switching Rivals

Hey everyone, I'm sure almost everyone here has played Pokemon Crystal before and knows what an jerk your Rival is. In the anime for D/P ( Diamond & Pearl ) Paul is Ash's new rival and he acts the same as the rival from Crystal. Instead we get a hyperactive and annoying rival in D/P. What if Crystal's rival switched with D/P's rival? And vise vorsa. How do you think it would affect the two games?

I totally agree with this statement as well

why would it be better its a rival you bump into your rival battle him and defeat him and your on your way. So no matter how the rival acts its not really doing anything to you on your journey

I don't like having a rival, it just takes a lot out of my journey. I don't think they should be in the games anymore, rivals

It would just match the anime and game better. D/P's rival is well... lol, mind as well have put D/P's rival in Crystal and put Crystal's rival in D/P. The rival for G/S/C does'nt really suit the game to me. The Crystal rival mind as well have been called Paul/Shinji lol.
