By the way, I just learned that there is already a Garnet Version, so I'm changing it to Tourmaline (a dark green gem).
The hack is called Pokemon Tourmaline and it is for Pokemon Ruby version.
I've been a fan of Pokemon since Red and Blue came out. All those years, I also fantasized about changes that could be made in the games, or even different storylines. Last year, I discovered this website and began rom hacking (even if I just made my account today). Of course, because I decided not to take a single tutorial, I stunk at it. But, I have become quite alright with scripting (studying how Nintendo had made scripts with PKSV) and mapping. I realized that even taking tutorials, looping music was very confusing, and spriting takes a lot of talent and practice. I think I have made one decent sprite, and I would post my work, but Pokecommunity doesn't let me post pictures or links yet. I decided to make this team because I need much more help than I thought I would.
Anyways, here is my storyline so far:
You are just a kid who lives in the snow-covered city of Frostgate. It is a quieter city than its neighbor, Winterton. Upon going downstairs, you realize that your mother is out. When you leave your house, a kid who lives next-door says that your mother told him to tell you that she is at Icecap Shore, which is on the west side of town. When you reach Icecap Shore, your mother tells you that her and her fiancé, who as of right now is so cleverly named Bob, are going on a cruise but only have two tickets. You are then informed that you are going to take a train in Winterton City to go to Windthrop Town, where your aunt and uncle live. And your uncle, who is a Gym Leader, will probably give you your own Pokemon. Your mother then gives you a goodbye and heads out. When you leave town and reach the unnamed route east of town, you meet with Bob who takes you to Winterton City. Once you get there, he abandons you because he hates kids. His last words were, "Keep ya nose clean, kid." What he didn't know was that Team -as of right now Renegade, but I don't like the name that much- was planning on taking over the city to control the railways. They block every other entrance of the city, thinking that Frostgate City doesn't really have much to offer. When you enter the train station, you see that there are long lines being held up because of ''delays.' Of course, there aren't really delays, Team Renegade was just preparing for the take-over and doesn't want anyone to leave yet. Soon, Team Renegade comes in, takes everyone's Pokemon, and sends them onto a train heading for Southshore Town.
'And then the adventure begins...'
I plan on also including other main characters. Like all other Pokemon games, a rival and professor are crucial. Two other men, however, could take part. One of them is a character I made up named Dr. Spruce, who is a crazy scientist that worked with the unnamed Prof. in the past. Dr. Spruce creates machines mainly made to splice Pokemon together to make his own. He would've then used them as new Pokemon for his own world, if his plans were not thwarted. Later on in the game, towards the very end, I planned on having him join Team Renegade by aiding them with spliced Pokemon that have already been encountered before. In return, they promised him to take part in their new world, which was a lie. Another character I came up with is Gaz, who is a man completely obsessed with ghost type Pokemon. Every time you end up in a place full of ghost Pokemon, he is there. In the final event of the game, where you fight the Renegade Boss and Dr. Spruce while they try to have the Legendary of the game create their world for them, Gaz shows up. He helps you out instead of fighting with you, but at the end he captures the Legendary with the Master Ball he kept handy for this moment because it's a ghost type. You have to hunt him down after that and end up fighting against his Pokemon and the Legendary at an old abandoned mansion where you first met him. Once he's beaten, he runs away and you battle the Legendary for the second time, only this time you are able to catch it.
So, I will edit anything out that should be changed.
