If im walling with tentacruel though, and a 'zam gets thrown in, im hoping tentacruel will be able to absorb one hit and then retaliate with payback.

EDIT: Ev spread for tentacruel: 252 HP / 126 SP DEF / 63 SPD / 63 SP ATK

Hrm, if my memory is good then tenta's HP is not great but its SP def is amazing. Better get good HP IVs. Lets hope 200 Base power with meager attack is enough to kill Zam XD

With salamence would you say Fire Fang is a better choice than fire blast/flamethrower?

Well, the main reason you should have a fire move on mence is to take out skarmory, forretress, steelix. Whichever does the most dmg is all I can say..

I wouldnt really want to gamble on the accuracy of fire blast, so I guess flamethrower would do the most damage, despite the fact mence wont be EV trained in SP ATK

'Mence has a decent enough Sp Atk to be able to take out Skarmory with a flamethrower without the boosted Sp Atk, however some people still go with Fire Blast just in case

Lol thats what I thought :/ One of my recent matches came down to the wire. Mence with 1 HP vs a skarmory! Mence used fire blast! SKARMORY SURVIVED!? WTF!? Skarmory used drill peck! Mence fainted! Sad thing is, the skarmory was paralyzed.

Score, I've just bred a tentacool with 31 HP and SP DEF IVs.

There was me thinking it would take all day, lol

When I was trying to get an adamant tyrogue it took me about an hour to get one without shockingly bad IVs.

-Surf
-Rapid Spin/Haze/Mirror Coat
-Sludge Bomb

switch in on a special sweeper then use barrier. your sdef will be around 350 and def around 300 after a barrier. surf for stab, 3rd move is for whatever role your team needs, and last move is another attacking move to counter water absorbers and stab.
