Team Rocket! And Other Evil Teams

Evil gangs are at the core of all of the Pokémon games: Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma, Team Galactic, Team Plasma, and Team Flare. Many of the spinoffs even have an evil team!

Each evil team has always had their own goals. Team Rocket wants to sell Pokémon for profit. Team Galactic wants to create its own world (and dominate it). Team Plasma wants to free Pokémon from trainers, and then world domination. You get the picture.

What do you think of the use of evil gangs as a main story mechanism in each game? Is it over done? What are the best evil teams? The worst?
