Hello, I was going to have a beta reader but I became impatient, so I post this directly instead. Therefore, I really appreciate critique and developing comments about the way I write and grammar mistakes.
I have two questions:
1. I'm not very confident when I reread my story. It feels like it's boring and nothing happens. Uninteresting. What do you think? :l
2. Am I allowed to post drawings/pictures made by me that are related to the story in this thread? I havn't seen anyone else doing it but..
Note: Evryone is gijinka in this world and story, I suggest that you read the prolouge, otherwise you might not understand when I refere to places or history. The prolouge is just facts and history about the Tei'ala kingdom, but it's still quite important. Don't worry, the real story will come, at Chapter 1.
Prolouge
It was in the middle of the spring. The Ewta'ah zuth river was rushing down the snowy mountainside and the currents were stronger than usual since the winter ice was melting. It was always snow and ice up there, all year around, and the signs of the seasons weren't many. The sun set earlier at the winter and later at the summer. The flow of Ewta'ah zuth changed and during the winter did mighty blizzards visit the mountains. It was rather an unwelcoming climate for most people, but none the less, there was a city.
Frost. A quite odd name for a town, but it was named after the old temple at the mountain peak and the town was known for its traditions. The towns predecessor, the Frost temple, was founded up in this lonely mountain with a reason. Frost resides at the Freiais mountains, which lies like a gigantic wall between the Tei'ala and Farun kingdoms. The Freiais mountains belongs to Tei'ala, which is the more isolated of the two kingdoms. With the mischievous Sea of Líne in the east and south, the deep, impermeable Forest of Límar in the west and last but not least, the cold Freiais mountains in the north, it was completely isolated.
Therefore, trading between countries were fairly impossible. In the old days of Tei'ala, the ruling people realized that the only way to make trading with their only neighbour country, Farun, was to cross the mountains. Though, it'd be impossible to even carry food for that journey. This was when the Frost temple was founded. A temple made out of glimmering ice ad black marble, and meant to be a well needed rest stop to refill the food stock and to defrost cold feet.
Back in the old days, the "legends" were ruling Tei'ala. About five temples were built in different locations, each one named after the legendary founder. Yes, Frost founded the Frost temple. She was known as the ice angel, and tales say she was an articuno. She put a lot effort in rescuing people in the mountains, but also in more trivial things like crafts and ice statues. She spent some decades just decorating her temple, and the outcome was great. Even now, in the future, it stands proud and magnificent as if the ice itself had sprouted and grown into a temple. Truly beautiful, especially at clear days when it glimmers in all sort of colors in the sunset.
Frost has kept it traditions since the very beginning. Ice sculpturing, different sorts of art and building, a certain sport where you only use weapons made of ice (called Ewshitri), trading markets and of course to acknowledge the temple and Frost herself.

Chapter 1Daeva
Daeva took a deep breath and closed her eyes. After a night of work at the temple, she finally was walking to her room at the basement floor. It was spring, and soon should the travelers and traders visit the town again. The floor under her feet was made of black and very cold marble, but Daeva didn't notice the chill from it. She was half a sneasel and an ice soul, so it didn't bother her at all.
A smile spread through her face as she approached her room. The Frost temple had a precipice to the west, and Daeva was lucky to have a room with a window. She had actually been working at the temple most of her life, so it wasn't that weird that she had been rewarded so generously.
She simply loved her room. It wasn't that big, but it sure was more than enough. The floor was of black marble, like most floors in the temple and the walls of different colored ices that was decorated with engravingings of graceful patterns and an inscription:
"irashane nenone enría kei nenone jajashun"
"The art is to enjoy not is hungry" would've been the rough translation. It meant that if you could enjoy yourself without being greedy or wanting more, you'd be rich. The language it was written in was old, but still in use. It was quite rare to be able to read and write, but those who could, defenitly knew this language.
In a corner, there was a bed with a small shelf next to it. On the shelf were some ice statues standing. Daeva sat down in her bed and took off her beloved necklace, a nevermeltice formed like a snow crystal, and put it on the shelf.
She was really tired, since she hadn't gotten much sleep the last days. She felt like something was approaching, and it worried her. She laid down her head on the pillow and let her red hair lie where it wanted as she made herself comfortable. Since her left ear had a small red feather attached to it, she usually slept on her right ear.
Daeva thought of herself as a quite open, pretty and forward person. She had dark skin, red and confident eyes, a small, cute mouth with some vampire-like theeth, a clear yellow gem at her forehead, ninja-like sandals, a black and red dress which actually was kinda short, since the cold didn't bug her and last but not least two sharp claws instead of two fingers at each hand. Usually she also wore the snowflake necklace.
Daeva was considered skilled at ice sculpturing, even though she had claws. Ice sculpturing was actually more about manipulating the ice rather than touching it. It was said that the purer your soul element is, the better you can manipulate it. Therefore could only the ice souls do the ice sculpturing, but Daeva had actually another great skill. She was fast. She could run faster than anyone around the temple or even in the nearby town. That wasn't always good, because it almost forced her to deliver messages between the temple and the town, since there wasn't anyone faster.
Daeva soon fell asleep.
--
She woke up in the middle of the day by a half snover boy who smashed up her door and shouted "..Myna'ei Daeva!? Are you awake!?". She woke up instantly and almost jumped through the roof. "What!?" She said and glared at the boy. "Havn't you learned it's polite to knock?" she added before he cried "Elde'ei Etrais wanna see you, now! She said it was very important!"
Daeva stared at him with a confused look as he ran away, appearently afraid of her reaction. Etrais was a half froslass and the highest person among the mountains. The matter was important, even very important, she had no doubt about that, why else would they send someone to wake her up in the middle of the daytime? Probably she should just run somewhere with a message anyways she thought and sighed.
She picked up her snowflake necklace and quickly gave the sunny window a glance. 'Sun. Great, didn't they know how disturbing sunlight was?' She thought.
Then it hit her that Etrais was a froslass, half an ice, half a ghost, who probably also was bothered and tired at daytime. This might be… very important, she thought.
She walked through the light, cold corridors and went upstairs. It was horribly bright, but there sure was many people awake. Daeva wasn't up at the day often, only sometimes to carry messages or just out of curiousity.
A half glaceon approached her and made a sign that Daeva should follow her. Daeva didn't hestitate and they walked out of the temple. "My name's Eima'ei Lazílrala and you sure must be Myna'ei Daeva, right?" the glaceon asked and nodded politely. "I indeed am" she took a long breath "why does Elde'ei Etrais desire to see me? …another message to carry?". Lazílrala hestitated, gave her a serious and doubting look, but then she seemed to realize something, and said "Have you heard of that The Great Theiran has awaited the rebirth of a certain fire soul named Leí'than?"
Daeva thought for a moment. "Leí'than"? Most names were combined words from the ancient language lime, like "Lazílrala" roughly meant "mystic diversity", pretty a fitting name for a half eevee familiar person.
"Leí'than" exactly meant "Scarlet". Having uncombined names were unsual, though The Great Theiran had one, his name meant "Azure". Wait… Scarlet and azure are two colors, and Theiran appearently wants to meet Leí'than? … Though Theiran is very, very old and it seems like he's almost immortal, it's common knowledge that you reborn… into a type that matches your soul element, so maybe he knew her in her past life? Probably, it's not like it's her business anyways.'
"No, I didn't know.. Did they know eachother or something?" she couldn't help but ask.
Lazílrala just gave her another half a glance, half a glare and it became quite awkward. Daeva sighed and watched the view instead.
It was too bright for her taste, but it was still pretty. She liked how the snow was glimmering in all sort of colors in the sunlight. It was an effect she couldn't see during night time. Sure, she could lit a lamp, but she preferred plain darkness, since her eyes could see perfectly in night. She was a night creature after all.
They walked across the ice bridge. It was in the same decorated style as the rest of the temple. The lightblue water under the bridge was shining in a mystical way, and it looked really cold. Big black stones were randomly scattered in the land, it almost looked like they were growing.
They were heading to a small temple that was considered a part of the Frost temple. The small temple was called Ewhi'ther shaín, which meant about "ice garden". The higher ups were living there. Daeva thought it was odd to live a bit away from the real temple, especially since they were high people. The high people was Etrais (the half froslass), Emell (a half dewgong), Ishtre (a half piloswine) and Emells husband Emivum(a half rapidash).
The building was like Daeva expected, in the same style as the main temple. Plants completely made of ice seemed to grow, running up against the temple pillars, with fine, thin leaves and blooming crystal flowers. Small gutters in the air, with water all the way from the river, ran around the building. It was like a temple straight from a fairytale, with only some magic, glowing fairies missing. Though, it was truly beatiful, really a masterpiece of ice sculpturing. It was a top class ice sculpture actually, made by Frost herself, and the ice was very hard and solid. That it still stood there, that it had survived all those winterblizzards unscratched, was a very good proof of the top quality.
Lazílrala made a sign that Daeva should stop. Daeva waited while the half glaceon reached a silver bell and rang. The metalic tone was pure, high and it made Daeva a bit uncomfortable. It all felt so solemnly and formal. They waited for about one minute in silence until Daeva heard light footsteps coming closer.
The half vulpix girl, who obviously was a servant and probably in the Lin'ei rank, friendly welcomed Lazílrala and asked about the matter. They seemed to know eachother, and Daeva asumed that they both worked for the higher ups. Lazílrala declared that Etrais wanted to meet Daeva and that she now had arrived, but the girl began to ask other questions and soon they just chatted.
Daeva didn't really listen.
'A vulpix, here.' Daeva thought. Fire souls were rare evrywhere, but most were actually born up here in Frost. When Frost made the temple, she intended to let ice climate souls born there, but suddenly also lots of fire souls were born.
The system of elemental souls and births is pretty different. As mentioned before, all souls have their element and most souls also have a favourite specie they mostly reborn into. It's a tale that the old legends were immortal, they just didn't age. When ancient legends "died", they only fell asleep and all their injuries, all memories, all sorrow of dead friends.. nothing would leave them even if they tried. No death, no rebirth, just a long sleep.
Many quickly realized the weakness of the immortality. It just wasn't worth it. Then Arkaí'oz, the one who was said to have created evrything, just changed the system into the rebirth system. The already living creatures was given powers to create their own temples and to create "birthing channels" in the temple. When a soul "borns", it's manifesting into a material creature, and it's the most magic and absurd process someone ever could watch. The birth channel is an object that often is related to the souls element, like the water focused temples have a pool of water, the grass focused temples have plants that grow exeptionally fast and so on. The Frost temple has large hollow icecrystal pillars and when someone births there, you can see through the ice how a light lits up and the ice become more like many small crushed pieces of ice that shapes themselves more and more into a humanoid body. Daeva mentally shivered when she thought of it, she had seen the process a few times. The things was that in the same room as the birth channel was, with all the ice pillars that grew by themselves, there were also lanterns. When fire souls began to born and each time broke a lantern each, Frost built a more convinient fire element birthing process with just a simple fireplace in the middle of the room. The surrounding ice, as well as the fire, was quite odd and… Daeva would say magic… so the ice didn't melt and the fire never died.
Daeva dropped the mental topic when Lazílrala and the half vulpix became quiet.
The girl curtsied with a warm smile and walked into the building again. Lazílrala began to follow her but hestitated and glanced at Daeva. "Are you coming?" she asked and lifted a brow. "Uh, yes, sorry." Daeva apologized and quickly followed.
The corridors were smaller, but it was high ceilings, giving it a sacred feeling. Two of the gutters ran parallel at each side of the walls. The walls had engravings of patterns, quite similar to the ones in Daevas room.
They went up two stairs, Lazílrala went into a room and stopped right inside of it. Daeva stopped just as she entered the room. A tall lady stood next to an ice sculpture in the middle of the room. She had long white hair with a few pale blue thin stripes running down her shoulders, cold blue eyes with yellow instead of white, a long white dress that was pleated like a waterfall on the floor, with wide arms and light blue patterns, two blunt ice horns on her head and a wide red silk belt around her waist. Her expression was grim and concerned but she let out a small sigh of relief when her gaze fell at Daeva.
Lazílrala bowed deeply and said "Greetings Elde'ei Etrais", she breathed, "Myna'ei Daeva has arrived, we don't interupt you I hope?" she stood up straight again but her head was still in a minor bow.
"No, of course you don't. This is actually quite a crisis, and I'm glad that you're here at this hour, Myna'ei Daeva. We really appreciate it." Etrais smiled a kind smile but her voice was stiff and tired.
Daeva formally curtsied and said "It's an honor to meet you Elde'ei Etrais, even if it's at this unfortunate hour at day. What's the matter?" she tried to sound enthusiastic, but she was certain that she failed. She was just too tired. It actually was an honor to meet someone of the Elde'ei rank, the ruling peoples in each city, and it could really heighten the chances of proceed to the next rank, especially if you'd succed to carry out a personal mission for them.
"The Great Theiran has since many decades ago, searched for the birth of a certain Leí'than. She's a fire soul and appearently someone important to him… and just now some hours ago did the birth section announce that Leí'than is born. She's a charmander in this life." Etrais paused "The thing is.. we need someone to deliver the message to him. Since the road between the countries hasn't woke up for summer yet, there are no random travelers who'd be able to do it.. " she turned away her head and added, a bit quieter ".. and this information shouldn't be trusted into the hands of only mere travelers, actually" her gaze fell at Daeva again, who reflected about the mission. She could see where this was going…
"Please don't overestimate me, I can't deliver a message.. all the way to Tehaira. The summer is coming and it's going to be hot, and we all know how bothersome heat is." Lazílrala was appearently annoyed by Daevas forthright declaration, while Etrais rather seemed rather amused.
"Don't worry. I've already thought of that. You're only going to Cidith, from there and on it will be Elde'ei Thadeirs responsibility and concern. When you've delivered the message you shall return as fast as possible, so we can lift this stone from our minds. Do you think you can take on this mission? I've heard you're clever and certainly skilled in most things that comes across your way." Etrais asked while Lazílrala secretly gave Daeva annoyed glances.
Daeva considered it. Cidith was all the way down the mountain, on the other hand it was a mission given by an Elde'ei, even one that concerned The Great Theiran. She'd most likely be rewarded generously. Actually, it wasn't really a question. She was the best runner in the mountains and the highest person among the mountains needed her to run an errand. Daeva wondered what Etrais would've said if Daeva said "no", quite curious and amused at what the reaction would be, but she trashed that idea, though with a mental smile.
"Sure, I accept." She said and bowed.
I've begun to write at chapter two, but I suddenly stopped when I realized that the way I write may be boring. ._. I need feedback at what I've done so far, and if I write in a boring way, I'll just have to make the story more interesting..

Note: I just noticed how the prolouge text size changes, but I'm not sure how I can change it
