I didn't really know where to put this thread but...

I am helping this one friend make a game on RPG maker VX ace and... He just slaughtered all my ideas...

He calls the Game "Universal Collision"
It's a game where you can travel to many many different universes of games and of that sort...
Also i am making an expansion for it... but he is limiting the game too far... Its so tight i dont know what to do...

    Games that are restricted
    Pokemon Series (Darn)
    Starcraft Series (D: )
Red Alert Series (OKAY I GET IT)
Warcraft Series (Okay okay your going way too far...)
Any RTS (He said no RTSs)
    Any FPS
    Any MOBA (I assume)
    Any MMO

Also he said that i can put anything i want in the expansion, but it has to be "approved"
So i'm dry and out of ideas

But i know the games he is including are

    Zelda Series
    Kirby Series
    Dragon Quest
    Sonic Series
    Adventure Time

Seriously? He restricted all of the games i grew up with... Loved and knew so much about...
The only 2 on the list i actually know stuff about is...
The Zelda Series and Adventure Time... Barely Played sonic

Any ideas on what to do?

Edit: He dosn't listen to really anything innovative that i say...
Also this fits this situation perfectly:

WOAH! I got him to budge... I Told him
to focus on the main game and worry about the main game, and i'll focus on the expansion...
also i'll make that other game i was planning

You guys can lock this thread now :D

Also did i mention i played Warcraft 3 constantly a while back
Two years worth of Playing as undead in that game and... i switched to orcs, Today my skills are gone :( but... the game is still fun!

Games like these don't do particularly well or last long. They have a tendency to stagnate during development, especially since the majority of them lack a direction. Unless you're extremely talented, I would recommend focusing on one series, or making an original game.

All of these things you've said are pretty telling signs that maybe you shouldn't be working with your friend. Don't work with someone who doesn't consider your input, that's just counterproductive. It might be an idea to sit down with him and discuss these issues, or work on a game without him. It's not a fun situation where you can't efficiently work well with friends on a project, so I'm definitely sorry to hear that.

This isn't relevant to the thread at all, and you shouldn't be double posting anyways. But for what it's worth, I played Undead back in the day, haha.

Hmmm seems like i should start my own game, thanks for the advice! :D
