Really? All it does is change some icons around, jumps forward 12 hours and gives us another Lunala/Solgaleo instead of doing things like...

    • Having a randomized opposite-gender player character as that world's League Champion
    • Letting us run through stronger Trials with Captains wielding full teams and battling a stronger Totem Pokémon
    • Being able to capture the opposite version Legendary after clearing the League
    • Having unique dialogue from Kukui and your mother when you talk to them

Granted, doing that would probably have melted the 3DS, since the base game already pushes it to its limits and beyond...

The purpose of the Atlernate World, I believe, was specifically for time-specific events only. It's not supposed to do all of those things, and if you expected it to, your expectations were in the wrong place.
Lackluster post-game seems to be a popular trend in the 3DS era

Coupled with the two-hour tutorial and 30-minute credits sequence, it's agonizing to restart your game once you finish the Looker missions, which take mere minutes to complete (just get the Beasts to yellow and huck a Beast Ball and Necrozma can be captured easily by a Heavy Ball of all things (or else I got lucky)

Even the information that Wicke has is merely parroting the pokédex, so hiking back to the Aether Foundation is a waste of time

Solid main game, weak post game, but by no means unenjoyable regardless

Most people only care about competitive and breeding so they don't mind if the post game is non-existent

But for casual players, it's disappointing that Game Freak didn't follow up on what was teased about Ultra Wormholes leading to other dimensions or following Lillie to Kanto

Oh well, nothing is perfect, like usual

It's a start. Game Freak have never made what you might call the perfect Pokemon game; they've always held back things for the next instalment. They've taken things out, or added them in, or built on them from previous generations. I think that will be the case with some of Sun/Moon's features.

If the rumour about a third version coming to the Switch are true, I think it highly possible these under-utilised features will get a great deal of expansion and become more than wasted potential. For the moment, though...well, better to have it than not, right?

the real post game in pokemon has always been complete the dex and batttle other people

^ Because, what is perfect to you don't necessary means it's perfect to others.

No matter how well they've made a game, there are bound to be complains like these-- You can't please everyone in the world.

I for one, was very happy with Sun and Moon; I do expect more, but I'm sure the "more"s will come in the future generations.
