As the title states, this is a team that me and Anti came up with. Anti introduced me to the idea of using a CB Ape, which has so far been a terror to other teams I've faced. I've made a few implements and changes, but still would like a good, solid rate.
The strategy of this team revolves around a 3-Poke combo: JoltGyaraApe. Each of these 3 sweepers covers each others weaknesses, and can hit well, especially with Ape scouting around. Aero was brought in for the classic SR suicide lead approach, which Gyarados completely loves, Machamp covers up a massive Tyranitar weak.
Lets get to the team now, shall we? (Sorry guys, no epic arkeis pics today)
Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash (Chan)
Jolly Nature
252 Atk/252 Spe/ 6 HP
Stealth Rock
Taunt
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Despite everyone thinking of counters for this guy, he still gets his one job done: Putting up Stealth Rock. If he's going to still be around, I either EQ or Stone Edge to attack. Taunt cripples sleeping, statusing, and other suicide leads. Nothing besides Electrode outspeeds this guy without a Choice Scarf.
Jolteon @ Choice Specs (Li)
Modest Nature
252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
HP Grass/HP Ice
Signal Beam
Jolteon actually makes a nice special sweeper if you throw some Specs on it. Plus, it looks pretty cool with glasses on. Shadow Ball stops Gengar, Thunderbolt slams bulky waters bar Pert, who HP Grass is solely for. Signal Beam is mainly a filler, since I can't find any other offensive moves on Jolteon besides STAB Electrics. Jolteon's role on this team besides killing everything in sight is taking Electric Attacks directed at Gyarados and using it for recovery or just to frustrate the opponent.
Infernape @ Choice Band (Black)
Jolly Nature
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP
Flare Blitz
Stone Edge
U-Turn
Close Combat
Infernape's role is to mainly scout for Gyarados and Jolteon, but can still devastate with STAB Close Combat and Flare Blitz. U-Turn is practically the only move I use on this guy, since his scouting is greatly welcomed. Stone Edge hits the dragons bar Flygon, as well as foe Gyara.
GYarados @ Leftovers (Lee)
Adamant Nature
252 Atk/ 110 HP/ 148 Spe
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Ok, I completely 4got a BulkyDD Gyara's EVs. Otherwise, this guy is still a major threat, and is mainly saved for late game. EQ/ Waterfall/ Stone Edge slam everything in the game for neutral, which is welcome to Gyarados. He also takes the incoming EQ from Ape and Jolteon, giving them a break.
Machamp @ Leftovers (Cruise)
Adamant Nature-No Guard
252 HP/ 40 Atk/ 220 Def
Dynamicpunch
Stone Edge
Rest
Sleep Talk
The ever-so common RestTalk Machamp (on my teams, anyway) is back for a Tyranitar stopper and status absorber. I originall had a Rotom-H in this slot, but found Infernape better to take care of Luke and Scizor. Dyanmicpunch still is a great STAB, and No Guard enhances that. Stone Edge covers everything D-Punch doesn't, and RestTalk is... well, RestTalk.
Jirachi @ Leftovers (Bond)
Timid Nature
252 HP/ 176 Spe/ 80 Spa
Calm Mind
Wish
Psychic
Grass Knot
Jirachi is mainly used to pass off WIshes, but can still come out as a bulky sweeper. Psychic is the obligatory STAB here, and Grass Knot was chosen over T-bolt for Swampert. Because of this, I might be able to free up a spot for Jolteon to abuse HP Ice or Ground.
Well, there's the team. Major threats so far have been the new mixmence, as well as T-Tar, who terrorizes without Machamp. Go ahead and rate away!
