CAUTION: BEFORE READING PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE MIGHT BE SMALL SPOILERS TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT BEATEN THE GAME YET.
Alright guys, I have been playing X and Y ever since they came out, and I think there is something definitely wrong with the Battle Chateau. At a first glance, it seems to just be a friendly place where you can level up and train your Pokemon, with the added benefit of some profit and the occasional prize item. However, I feel that there is much more to it than just that, and I have found in-game evidence to support my theory. I am not sure what it is yet, but I just know there is something wrong...
Evidence:
So far, I have thought of three theories of what might explain these occurrences.
Anyway, let me know what you think of all this and use this thread to share any theories you might have. But please, do not make any negative posts...

Spoiler:
- Whenever you speak to either the butler or maid at the door, they will always simply end the conversation by just becoming silent and stating "... ... ... ... ..."
- When you battle certain trainers, their dialogue is very strange. In fact, there are 2 in particular that I have noticed so far. One is a butler and the other is a maid.
- The butler says that he is apologizes for what he is about to do to you, and once you defeat him he says that he was sorry, and that his master gave him orders. However, he seems to get nervous and says that he shall never reveal his master's true identity.
- The maid is just basically like a robot, and says stuff like 'TARGET ACQUIRED' and 'OBJECTIVE CONFIRMED'. After you battle her, she will say that she was designed only to battle, which implies that she isn't even human at all. Most likely she was designed by 'the master' of the chateau.
So far, I have thought of three theories of what might explain these occurrences.
Spoiler:
- Maybe both of these trainers are simply just Emma/Essentia from the Looker Bureau, and she is just playing some sort of prank on you.
- Maybe the butler and maid from the door are the ones who battle you this way, and perhaps the 'master' is someone who is not quite clear.....
- Perhaps 'the master' is the ghost girl from Lumiose City, and she used to live in the chateau, leaving behind the two servants. After all, it isn't exactly uncommon for a ghost girl to be from a chateau or mansion in Pokemon games.
Anyway, let me know what you think of all this and use this thread to share any theories you might have. But please, do not make any negative posts...
