My first pokemon fanfic ever; on that note, it's the first fanfic I've ever tried writing. This is not completed, as you can tell, and is also not the end of this chapter, but I decided to post up what I had to get opinions.

Things may seem confusing and what not, but I promise it will be cleared up as the story progresses along. The only thing I am stating now is that this is currently taking place in the Johto Region. :3

This is also completely Fan Made and the Dark Lances are a team of which I have created. More on them will be explain later on.

Oh, and I didn't re-read for errors, so I'm sure they're in there.

    Enjoy.

    ----------------------
An odd silence filled the town as she brought her Rapidash forward, slowly inspecting the success of her raid. Around her stood the dozens of townsfolk, their faces controlled by the expression of fear and their limbs frozen by it; they were much too scared to try and protest to her power in any way. The reaction of the people only added to her dominance, her posture easily showing any onlookers that she was the leader of this disastrous event that had taken hold of their town. The silver flames of her steed glowed oddly from the darkness of the night; its black colored pelt making it seems as if it was nothing but a floating fire. It snorted slightly, tossing its head as she reined it and turned to skim over the terrified faces that watched her.

Her outfit seemed to be crafted from pure metal, a seemingly suit of armor as though one a person far in the past would wear. It was completely black, helping blend her into the terrain, and the cape that hooked over her shoulders and flowed behind her was a deep red or crimson. The helmet covering her face resembled that of a dragon or fanged beast and her long red hair fell out from the back. Her Rapidash was covered with a golden armor that glinted from the flames sprouting on its neck and tail. Its eyes were a bright blue, glowing like spotlights in the setting. Her face, though that of a delicate and attractive woman was only a cover for a quite strict and fearsome being, that truth only being revealed in the depths of her eyes.

"Citizens of Mahogany town…" Her voice rang clear through the icy darkness, demanding their attention. "Your town has been surrounded by my troops. The police have tried to enter but have failed you. And now, I am taking control of this town you know. Those who show opposition should speak now, or you will hold your tongue until your dying day. Speak now!"

The people remained completely silent, though she could tell there were ones eager to speak out. Some even placed their hands on their pokeballs, as if tempted to try attacking her. A cold grin crept across her face.

"No one? Nothing to say?" A fake sympathy dapped at her tone. "Fine with me. Just let it be known that on this day the Dark Lance took control. And don't ever forget."

After she had completed her statement another Rapidash came galloping into the clearing, neighing loudly before settling beside her. The rider stopped beside the leader, glancing around momentarily before briskly reporting to her. "Reige, we have successfully secured the premises. Mahogany Town is now fully under our control. There isn't much left for us to do here."

"That's 'Mistress' to you, Laine. Do not make such a mistake again." The solider dipped his head, quickly apologizing. "Well then, if all seems well I say we should move out. As you stated, there's nothing much left here…" She laughed slightly, moving Fear, her Rapidash, towards the now separating crowd. "They complied much faster than I would have expected. It's good to know people are still sensible."

"I wouldn't agree less, Mistress. Oh, and we also have taken the Gym Leader Pryce hostage. With his old age he seems to have lots of wisdom. There might be some use having taken him; his ice pokemon were no match for our fire ones." Reige nodded slightly.

"Good. Tell what knights we have here to report back to base; keep a good amount of troops here to make sure we have control though. There's no telling what the police will attempt to get this place back." She turned, now urging Fear into a gallop. He reared up and kicked the air with his front hooves before charging past the crowd and towards Mahogany Town's exit, straight in the direction of Blackthorn.

Laine gave a simple grunt in confirmation, watching her disappear into the darkness of night before turning his pokemon and starting towards the borders. He skirted quickly through the city, trying his best to deliver the message as swiftly as possible. He soon reached his destination and the air was fouled with the stench of smoke, causing him to wave his hand before his face as he approached a comrade. Before them stood a fearsome Tyranitar, towering over the knights that stood nearby and eyes glowing with a powerful lust. Tendrils of smoke wafted from its open jaws and destruction was all that stretched before it, trees being blown and burned and cars totally obliterated. Laine felt himself shuddering from the thought of being hit with the same move those policemen had, but he could not dwell on inner feelings. He reined beside the other warrior, not bothered by the fact he didn't look.

"Dreven, Mistress has given orders to pull back. Our work of securing the area has been completed. She also stated to leave some of the troops behind to keep control of the town." He noticed his partner's response and turned his Rapidash, now cantering towards the town again. "Do not linger. We do not want to make this event bigger than it already will be by morning's dawning."

Snorting, Dreven listened as the hoof beats faded into the distance. Whistling a sharp note, he waited for the Tyranitar to turn around and return to his side, grumbling with what seemed like satisfaction. He smiled, raising a hand to pat his pokemon on the stomach. It seemed happy at the attention and slammed its tail on the ground, a loud humming beginning to sound from deep in its throat.

"Looks like Reige is finally getting this group into motion, eh? That's good. Seems like we'll be in for a pretty rough and thrilling ride." He chuckled to himself, turning to follow in the direction Laine had gone. The Tyranitar yawned loudly, now taking heavy footsteps beside his trainer.
    ----------------------
Like a blur he sped across the plains with the wind lashing at his fur and singing songs in his ears. The landscape was moving so quickly that he could barely make out what was coming and going, save for many obstacles that he easily scaled over or bounded around. Every step was another exerting of his endless freedom and the vigor of his pace. But even as he enjoyed the acceleration of his flight he knew all was not calm; high in the far reaches of the sky a figure loomed, desperately trying to keep pace with his abnormal speed. If anything, it must have been another trainer trying their luck to capture him, one of the three legendary dogs. A slight smile appeared on the pokemon's face as he ran, skillful eyesight keeping a good lock on the dot following.

Trees raced past as he entered a large expansion of forest, his large talon like claws leaving lethal imprints and grooves on the surface of the earth as he fled. If anything, the forest would be good enough to give him cover from the human following his tread. For now, it seemed as if they could still see him through the flittering openings in the canopy, but the deeper he sprinted into its depths the harder it would be to see him, and then he knew his breakaway would be inevitable. Raikou lunged forward, claws sinking into the dirt as he quickly stopped himself and turned his snout towards the heart of the sky. The trainer seemed to notice, for its pokemon began to circle the area with a decent. His red eyes flickered dangerously as he opened his stance, cloud starting to ripple from the formation of his attack. His fur bristled as static formed and sparks jumped from his being; tail flickering back and forth as he waited for the right moment. Then, when his foe was in range he roared loudly, a large electric beam forming in his mouth. In only a few moments it had shot out as a giant beam, ripping through the clearing and headed straight toward the person.

At first all he heard was a terrified screeching and a desperate flapping of wings, as though that would be enough to dodge the oncoming attack. There was a moment of silence followed by a large flash of lights before he knew his opponent had been struck. Feeling satisfied Raikou let a rumble rip through his being before turning to continue through the forest without a trace he had ever been there.
