The Forever Book: the novel that never ends.
Basically, the rules are simple: I write the first chapter of a book. Then, someone else makes the next chapter, and the chapter after that, and so on. You must end your turn on a cliffhanger. Be sure to be creative and hilarious. Jokes are encouraged.
That's about it, I'll just start this with a post.
Chapter 1
The King paced around in circles. The rumors had been confirmed-a goblin hoard was approaching the kingdom. "Where is the Royal Mage?" the King demanded.
"Where he always is," said a guard. "In his room, viewing his crystal ball."
The King paused at this, and then said, "Bring him in here. He shouldn't be watching that crystal ball all the time anyway, it will rot his brain."
The King turned around and looked out the tower window. Ever since everyone found out about the legion of goblins invading, the city had been in panic. Maybe, just maybe, the Mage would know what to do...
The King heard footsteps as the Mage walked in. The King turned around to see the Royal Mage standing there.
"So," the King began, "do you know what to do about the goblins?"
"You could, like," the Mage started, "send the army?"
The King stopped, and then scowled at the Mage. "There's no need to be a smart-Alec about it."
"Did you seriously not think about sending the army?"
Another pause. Suddenly, the door burst open. A messenger stumbled in the room. Panting, he said, "My lord, the invasion has begun."
That's it for the first chapter, make sure you think of a creative way to deal with the cliffhangers.
