Here is where you can discuss the Pokémon version of "The Jungle Book" in "The Kangaskhan Kid."

    My review to come forthwith.

It was a nice episode that really annoyed me to some degree. Of course, this reminds me of George of the Jungle. Maybe, it was a plot and I'm not talking about the whole jungle boy thing.

Awful. After re-watching, I thought it was too cheesy at the end...it has a rather unique plot though, the dad drops their son out of a helicopter. Hmm.

I remember there's a dialouge edit with Misty and the boy ha...

Whoever was dubbing would've edited the scene. But then, much like death, breasts do not exist. It is, of course, all cruel lies from our Japanese cousins. So no need to worry, Western kiddies!

Oh yeah, this is the first dub episode in the Safari Zone, I think the banned episode is before this one?

    They actually showed breast?

You know, for a long time when I was younger, I always wondered where Ash got his Tauros.

Yes, breasts don't exist. Shifty eyes.

No, the banned episode was the next one, according to the numbering (Episode 34 is this one, 35 is the banned one).

Yeah The Legend of Dratini was the episode after this one.

Back on topic; it was a decent episode. I found Tomo's papa to be amusing, yet never understood why they had swirls on their cheeks. It was also interesting concept to see a person that was raised by Pokemon, opposed to the other way around. As for how Tomo obtained yet alone, learned to skillfully use a boomerang?... I'll leave that question for someone else. ._.

all i remember was the kid yelling "Kangas kangas Kangaskhan!!!". We used to run around the playground yelling it in grade school because doing stuff that pokemon does is cool. :)

    Did you also like Mudkips?

On topic: That kid annoyed when he said that. I was kind of wishing the Warden would come with his gun and have an "accident".*shot by the Warden by "accident"*

I just saw the episode (never saw it before) It was terrible. It felt like Leo the Lion... it felt so un-Pokémonish and made me feel depressed after watching it.

of course, that's just my opinion. I'm very very nostalgic to Pokémon... so I do have sharp opinions :)

actually, what made me dislike it a lot more were the parents... it's just how that dad guy was designed... it looked so... 60s.

this was just an annoying and pointless episode. The bit where they flew the helicopter into the mecha was hilarious though. i cried when it turned out that the parents weren't dead

That my friend; is a filler episode. Which makes up much of the more recent pokemon episodes (which I don't watch). I loled at you crying.

I'll attempt the actual 60's anime allusion later, since I'm not sure which anime they were going for, here.

I think this was the first use of the Team Rocket mecha, and, boy, what an entrance. It was even on fire, and it kept going (compared to these days). Plus, the brats took it out logically (by hitting the fuel tank). Thankfully, this is one of those episodes where the Rocket trio actually saved it.

Like the rest of you, I didn't care for the kid or the parents. So, beyond the Rockets and the spotlight of the Safari Zone, I couldn't care less of the episode! Whoo!

It's a pity the next episode was skipped -- sounded like a lot of fun, by comparison. Oh, well, that's the way it goes.

I will admit, this is one of the VERY few Kanto episodes that I did not like much the other one being Challenge Of The Samurai which was just plain boring. The edit and dialogue change during this episode was a given but it made Misty look like she was over reacting to what the kind said when in reality the kid asked her something very perverted so I can justify Misty's reaction.
