Prologue
Entei flew out of a window, shattering the glass and flinging it everywhere. He had been sent to save a child from Team Rocket, but not just any child. She was the child of the Pokemon brethren, the Legendary rulers of the earth. This child had to have a strong heart, invincible courage, and a will to live free. The Rocket's had attacked in the middle of the night, and now the child's parents were dead.
" I will bring you to the brethren, and you shall live in a human free world." Entei said to the baby nestled in his fur.
He flew through the forest, and into the deep tunnel, marked with the seal of the Pokemon Brethren.

"What?!?" The booming voice of Lugia was heard over the crowd of Legendary Pokemon.
" You're meaning to say, Entei, that Rockets killed her parents?" Mewtwo asked reasonably.
Entei had entered the Valley of the Pokemon, and was standing on a podium before the other 16 members of the brethren, in Brethren HQ.
" Yes. When I got there, Team Rocket was attacking the house, and they killed the parents." Entei explained " They were about to abduct the girl, but I grabbed her and escaped."
All of the Pokemon began talking furiously. Rayquaza intervened.
" Order! Order I say!" he roared " This is an outrage, we all know that."
Mew put her tail up in the air.
" Yes?" said Rayquaza.
" Isn't it true that Giovanni is also searching for Brethren HQ?" Mew asked
" Yes, this is true." Rayquaza pondered " We must put a stop to Giovanni, once and for all."
" Yes!" all the Pokemon agreed
" Wait!" Latios called out. " What about the child?"
" Yes, she is an orphan!" Zapdos chimed in
" We should parent her!" suggested Jirachi
An uproar of opinions, complaints, and agreements rose in the HQ, until Groudon brought his claws down on the table. " I don't know," argued Groudon " this is a human we're talking about. How would it adapt to bieng raised by Pokemon?"
" We'll have a vote." announced Rayquaza " All in favor of raising this child, propose." It was unanimous, except for Groudon of course.
"Fine." he grumbled
" So that's it?" said Kyogre " One question. Exactly how do we raise it?"
There was a mutter of approval.
"Simple!" squealed Latias " We'd raise her like she was our own."
" And keep her safe!" added Articuno "We just treat her like a Pokemon, and let her make friends and flourish among the other young Pokemon."
" So it's decided then?" asked Suicune " We're going to raise her?"
" Yes. It has been said." replied Rayquaza. The child stirred a bit in Entai's mane, for she knew nothing of what she would become.

A girl slept in the forelegs of an Entei, her head nestled in the great creatures chest. Entei moved his head so that the creeping sunlight wouldn't shine on her face. He looked down at her.
" She's so peaceful." He whispered to himself " How could we have not raised her?"
A small yellow Pokemon hopped up the small hill to where Entei and the girl sat. It snuck along Entei's front legs, then poked it's nose above it's right foot, to peer at the strange girl. Pikachu, as the creature was called, sniffed the girl's ebony hair lightly. Entei noticed this, and waved it away. It leapt back a step, then proceeded to study the girl again. Entei gave it a smack on the snout, and it scampered away, squealing. Entei gave a chuckle.
" Yes, how could we have not raised her? The rest of the little ones are dying to meet her, for the first time."
A pink blur shot through the trees, like a bullet. It dodged the branches and came to a halt in front of Entei. " So today's the day?" Mew asked with anticipation
" Yes." Entei replied " It is her twelfth birthday, and we agreed that on this date, she would be introduced to the other Pokemon."
Mew did a summersault in midair. " Yay!! And all of the Brethren are going to be there?"
" Yes."
Mew spun around, laughing. " Get her up!" Mew squealed " I need to get everyone!" She sped off.
Entei nudged the girl's forehead with his snout gently.
" Gabby, wake up, today's the day."
The girl opened her eyes and blinked a few times, then she sat up. " Really?" she yelped in surprise
" Yes Gabby. You must hurry and get dressed." Entei replied
"Okay Papa!" Gabby rolled down the hill and grabbed her bag, which was laying at it's foot. She got up, brushed herself off, and skipped into the woods. She came out 10 minutes later totally ready, her black hair pulled back in a bandanna, and her cleanest clothes on. She grasped a Pokeball in her hands, but she didn't really know what it was for. The Brethren told her it was for throwing back and forth, for they did not wish for Gabby to know of Pokemon Trainers until she was much older.
" Ready!" she said, bounding back to Entei.
" Good, now we..." he started
A howl broke through the morning, coming from the mouth of Suicune, another Legendary Dog. He sat on a cliff, his head tilted upwards towards the sky, sending an eerie melody ringing through the valley.
" Is that it?!?!?" asked Gabby
Entei rolled his eyes. " Yes, that's it alright."
Gabby shot off with the force of a rocket, heading for the cliff. She sprinted up it, leaping from rock to rock and making her way up to Suicune.
" Here we go again." Entei laughed
He backed up, and sped forwards, pounding the ground with his powerful back legs and springing hundreds of feet up into the air. He grasped the vertical face of the cliff with sharp claws, and sprang upwards to the top, clinging to the edge of the plateau. He pulled himself up just as Gabby reached Suicune.
" Hi!" she screeched, jumping up and down
" Hello Gabby, are you ready for it?" Suicune asked
" OF COURSE!!!"
" Well then let's go!" he said, letting Gabby hop onto his back and turning to his brother,
" Coming Fire Face?"
Entei bristled. He didn't like bieng called 'Fire Face'. His brothers called him that because they said he had a boiling temper, and that was one way to activate it.
" Yes I am coming, and don't call me Fire Face unless you want some Fire in your face!" he retorted
Suicune and Gabby laughed, and headed into the tunnel behind the plateau, which lead to Brethren HQ.
So the amazing trio of Entei, Suicune, and Gabby headed for Brethren HQ. When the entered the familiar courtroom-like hollow, the Brethren was already seated around the podium in the middle of the room. Rayquaza beckoned Gabby to the stand, along with Entei.
" Gabrielle. Do you know why we have not let you come into any contact with the other Pokemon yet?" Rayquaza asked
" No Sir. Why?" Gabby replied
" It is because we wanted to see how you would react to bieng raised by Entei," Rayquaza explained. " and you have done well."
" So, in that case." added Moltres " Now we will introduce you to the Valley, and it's POkemon. "
"From now on Gabby, you will be able to roam freely amongst the Valley." said Rayquaza " Also, Mewtwo will be raising you as well as Entei." Mewtwo stood up, a blue Aura surrounding him
. " One more thing, if I may add." Mewtwo stated "Remember to never stray past the walls of the Valley. There are many dangers laying out there."
"Also parenting you, along with Mewtwo and Entei, is Lugia." Rayquaza glanced at Lugia, who gave him a questioning look. Rayquaza nodded, and Lugia stood up.
" Now, you must know about Pokemon Trainers." Lugia warned with a solemn face "They are humans, like you, but they catch POkemon in little things called Pokeballs. I believe the child has a locked one, Entei?"
Entei nodded and took the red and white sphere out of Gabby's backpack. Lugia took it.
" The "Pokemon Trainers", as they are called, throw these at wild Pokemon and capture them." Lugia continued " Once the POkemon are captured, the Trainers use them to fight."
Kyogre floated above her stand. " Many times this has happened to us, and we have been almost captured, escaping very narrowly."
" So, you will have one Pokemon of your own," Rayquaza said " not to fight, but to act as a big sister."
Rayquaza released the Pokemon from the Ball, and after a long wait, an odd Pokemon appeared.
" This," said Raikou " is Kurovee. She is unique and able to transform into any other Pokemon. She will be like a sister to you, and, if the circumstance arises, fight to protect you from any Trainers that find this haven."
" So, go now, and see the Valley anew!" Rayquaza announced
A cheer arose from the Pokemon as Entei, Lugia, Kurovee, and Mewtwo, escorted Gabby out.
" Are you ready Papa?" Gabby said to Entei
" As ready as I'll ever be." he replied
As they stepped out, and the Brethren departed, Rayquaza added a final thought to himself.
" Entei? Papa? What a world..."
