And that was it. The humans had finally worn themselves out to extinction. War, famine, crime, tampering with the environment, everything they did to make life easier killed them off. Nearly all the lands were barren now, rarely did trees, or any type of plant grow, the waters were polluted, and the skies were always a thick grey color. The humans had worn Earth out, then left it to rot in the solar system.
But what of the pokemon? Miraculously, they had survived. They refused to simply give up hope, as their two-legged friends had. Slowly, but surely, they began to rebuild, to restore, the planet. Those who were strong enough took down the buildings, grinding them into nothing but dust. The plant pokemon spread out across what was left of the land, regrowing and nourishing what they could. The water pokemon went out of thier way to clean the oceans and other bodies of water, making them clean again. Everyone did what they could, and given some time, the world grew back to the way it used to be, before humans had touched it. Life was grand, there was plenty of food, water, shade, and everybody was happy. Sure, there were still fights over theft and land, but that would be around forever. Everything was peaceful, and it would remain that way.
At least, they were hoping the peace would last. Soon, some pokemon began to get cocky. They craved power, the power they could easily attain while humans were still around. And so they trained themselves, the fighting grew more intense as the years went by. By now those who were strong craved dominance over the weak, to have order and place instead of being treated equally. This need for the ultimate control over anyone and everyone caused the strong ones to fight amongst one another, until one particular soul became victorious. The winner then took charge of the loosers, swooping through the land, conquering every place in sight. An oncoming war between the conquered and the not seemed almost inevitable.
But a group of six friends believed that they could stop this before it happened. In thier 'secret' meeting place, they all agreed to search for the mythical legendary pokemon, who were said to be gone along with the humans. However, these strong willed kids believed they could find them, against all odds. The place they would meet at is the Shrine in Ilex Forest, and they would set off from there, without telling any adults. They knew if anybody found out, they'd never be allowed to leave.

I would like to personally welcome you to 'The Legendary Last Hope'. There are a few things I'd like to mention before I display the sign-ups. A few... 'rules', if you will.
1. No abbreviations. EX: 'You' instead of 'u', 'Be right back' instead of 'brb'. If you can't spend your time typing a few more letters, then you really aren't much of a writer/RPGer yourself. Of course, this rule doesn't apply to the 'off topic' zones, and words like 'can't' and 'don't'. ^_^
2. Be descriptive. No one line posts. It'd be nice if some effort was put into this RPG, so make it at least a paragraph. Same goes for the sign-ups.
3. No pokemorphs, humans, anthros, etc. This is a world where only pokemon exist, it'd be pretty awkward.
4. No being a legendary. You can't exactly be what you're trying to find, right?
5. Space is limited. The first five people that sign up are the ones I will first consider. If I deem the sign up good enough, that character will be in.
6. There is no six. >.>
7. Have fun! ^_^
Sign-Up:
Name: Obviously, the thing your character will be called throughout this RPG.
Species: What type of Pokemon your character is.
Gender: If you need help with this, you seriously need to reconsider joining this RPG.
Age: How old your character is.
Appearance: What your character looks like, you know, eye color, special markings...
Personality: How your character acts.
Legendary: The legendary you personally hope to meet, and insist on searching for.
Special Ability: I don't mean out of whack attacks, I mean abilities. Can your character cook well, does he/she have a knack for stealing, navigating, etc.? If you insist on having a special power, make it defensive. Like creating a barrier, enhanced healing abilities, or the power to make plant like foods come out of the ground, etc.
Relationship: Is your character friends (or more?) with any particular person?
History: A brief re-telling of your character's past.
Other: Anything I may have forgotten that you think is important.

Sign-Up:
Name: Keiko
Species: Shining Espeon
Gender: Female
Age: 12
Appearance: Being a Shining Espeon, Keiko's fur is naturally a brilliant emerald green color. She has a flurry of sparkles that surround her at all times, and they tend to reflect her emotions whether she wants them to or not. Keiko has big, innocent, bright blue eyes that hold a constant look of happiness, despite what is happening on Earth at the moment. She has an amethyst embedded in her head, instead of the normal ruby. She wears one golden hoop earring on each ear, and a black bandana around her neck.
Personality: Keiko is... insane. That's right, she's wild, random, a complete nutcase. But amongst all this she is quite friendly, instantly warming up to those who are kind to her. She'll go out of her way to help someone, and is fiercly loyal to those she befriends. She's also sarcastic, a joker who enjoys ticking her enemies off. She loves to tease others, though her almost constant grin shows that she's kidding, most of the time. Keiko also becomes annoyed very easily, and is an agressive battler, despite her age. She loves being out in the fresh air, singing, and just generally being happy.
Legendary: Ho-oh
Special Ability: Keiko can create a magical barrier around herself and a few others, deflecting any and all attacks.
Relationship: Nope, but feel free to PM me and we'll talk.
History: Keiko grew up in the Ilex Forest all her life, along with her mother, father, and her two twin brothers. She was always in the shadow of her brothers, so she's used to not getting too much attention. She spent a lot of her time exploring, trying to find new things, and eavesdropping on others. It was a particularly windy autumn day when she overheard some of the elders talking about the 'inevitable devistation of all'. She had immediately told all those who she trusted, and though the adults told her not to go looking for trouble, her friends insisted that they do something about it. And so they trained each other, and within one year she had managed to evolve. All that was left now was to follow the clues in the stories of the 'Legendaries' she had heard so much about.
Other: Uh... yeah. Heh ^_^;;
