Ok, after reading the summary of Movie 7, and being dissapointed, I decided to write my own short story version, and am planning to do so for other legendaries.

    A few things...

The method of creation of Deoxys is my own idea, with a little help from Gary, and is in no way cannon. Also, the appearence and type of the new Deoxys form that will be in Emerald is not confirmed to be the one I use.

    Here we go....

The night sky blanketed the desert, like a cover of darkness. Beneath it, Cacnea slept, drawing energy from the limited nutrients in the ground as they did so. Nearby a shadow crept, its green spikes ready to defend the family of Cacnea from any attackers.

Without warning, the Cacturne jumped forward, firing a round of spines at the approaching Sandslash. The ground and rock Pokemon shrugged the attack off, growling whilst waving its claws threateningly. The Cacturne looked back for a moment, before running forward, its arms outstretched and heading for the foe. Sandslash flew back as the Needle Arm made contact. It was quick to react, however, jumping forward again, ready for a slash attack.

The Pokemon stopped though, when it saw the Cacturne looking straight up at the sky, no longer paying any attention to the battle. Swinging its arms back beside its body, the Sandslash looked up too, to see the huge rock charging down at them.
?Cac! Nea! Cac!? The grass Pokemon shouted, alerting its family nearby. It motioned behind it, and the dozen or so Cacnea awoke, the very sight of the speeding meteorite terrifying them. The Cacturne then looked to the Pokemon, which had been its foe a mere moment ago. The brown quilled creature nodded, staring Cacturne straight in the eye. They had previously been enemies, but now it was time to protect their home. Spiked Pokemon, fighting together. The object was even closer now, pieces of it breaking as it entered the atmosphere. The two Pokemon had no idea of what was inside, but they could sense it was a threat.

Meanwhile, in the Hoenn region, the Sky Pillar shook as the dragon atop it shifted its mass. The long green tail swung around the of side of the tower as it pushed its body up using the spindly arms which protruded from its chest. Rayquaza glared at the sky to see the rock blasting through it.

    The sky.
    It?s territory.
Groudon ruled the earth, Kyogre the ocean, and the huge blanket of sky was his to protect.

With this thought in mind, the dragon spread its body, uncoiling itself and roaring loudly as its body lifted from the tower. The moonlight caught the red stripes down Rayquaza?s side as its huge mass left the perch of the Sky Pillar.

Sandslash and Cacturne braced themselves, as the meteor crashed down, rocks showering everywhere, some slamming in to the two Pokemon, who were determined to protect their land. From within the center of the object, came a strange buzzing noise, and as the dust settled, it could be seen that it was pulsing, seemingly growing slightly larger with each ?breath?. Cacturne held its arms out wide, summing up this foreign artefact, as Sandslash prepared a battle pose. With no warning, the crystalline object seemed to explode in a flash of light, soon shrinking down to form a figure.

From the white light emerged a human like beast, only with a strangely shaped head, which seemed to have fins protruding from it. The Pokemon held it?s large hands of in front of it, floating down to the ground and walking forward on its odd spindly-footed legs. The pulsing object was now positioned in this new creature?s chest, still throbbing rapidly.

Both Cacturne and Sandslash charged forward, their arms stretched towards this foe. The Pokemon attempted a Needle Arm and Slash attack, respectively, but were soon stopped in their tracks. The Pokemon?s fingers disintegrated, as did its arms, before they each split in to two tentacles like appendages. Seconds later the tendrils were wrapped around the two desert dwellers, throwing them backwards. They both cried their names loudly as they flew through the air, their limbs flailing wildly, as the Pokemon?s limbs morphed back in to hands. It looked down at the fallen warriors, it?s eyes locked on them, as a purple energy swirled and increased around it, focusing in to its palms. As both Pokemon opened their eyes, the felt something push in to their minds, something, which seemed to speak to them from within.
    ?Psychoboost.?
That was the last the two Pokemon heard, the last they saw a huge purple blast heading straight at them. The bodies fell to the ground, as the Pokemon continued to stare at them, before closing its eyes and turning around.

No sooner had it taken a step, than a golden blast swept past it, prompting the beast to open its eyes again. This time it did not see small Pokemon, which could be prey, but a huge dragon, rocketing towards it.

    A month previously?

?And so, Doctor. Oak,? the lab technician said, leading the young man over to a computer, ?Would you care to see how the Pokemon works in space??
?Sure thing.? The boy responded, motioning for his Umbreon to follow him. He ran his hand through his brown spiked hair, before buttoning up his lab coat. The dog like Pokemon looked up to him, his red eyes menacing but affectionate. ?Ok Umbreon.? Gary said, smiling, ?When I am done here, we can head back to Kanto.? The Pokemon snarled a little, prompting a slight chuckle from the trainer turned researcher. ?I don?t know the next time I will get to come here, it might be a once in a life time chance.? He smiled again. ?Also, not even Gramps has seen how a Porygon2 operates in space.?
The Pokemon finally gave in, knowing his master was too stubborn to change his mind now. Sighing, the beast walked along the silver floor, shinning like the rest of the building. The walls were lined with machines, every one with a different display, some showing numbers, some with images. All around Umbreon were people wearing lab coats, just like his master?s. Each one seemed to be working at a station, typing at keyboards and staring at the screens, which were too high for the Pokemon to see clearly.

?So, all I do,? the technician said, slightly nervous at meeting Gary Oak, the grandson of the famous Professor Oak, ?is give directions to the Pokemon via this control pad, and view what it views via this screen.?
?Incredible.? Gary muttered. ?When I first saw Porygon I was impressed, but this makes that look like a Magikarp.?
?Yes, we can certainly create some incredible things now, but of course, we have to be careful.?
Gary nodded. He didn?t know too much about it, but he still remembered the beast he fought, the one under the control of Giovanni. The one legend called Mewtwo.
?So,? Gary said, trying to get that thought from his head, ?What else can it do? Flying through space only has limited use, right??
?Of course.? The man said, pressing at buttons. ?Now, lets see.? On the screen appeared a rock, flying past the blue nose of Porygon2. ?If we want to analyse something like this, we press this button, which activates inbuilt scanners.?
?And how do they work?? Gary questioned, interested.
?Lasers.? The technician replied. ?They scan the density and other properties of an object, and give us details based on their feedback. If you would like to do the honours Doctor??
Gary nodded, and pressed the button that had been indicated to him. There was a beep, followed by a growl as Umbreon tried to see what was happening. Numbers and bars scrolled across he screen, relaying the details to the computer. Gary started to read them, when he felt a sharp pull on his trouser leg.
?What is it Umbreon?? He said, slightly annoyed, but not meanly. He then realised what the Pokemon meant, as he looked at his watch. ?Sorry,? The young man said, but I need to get back to the lab, I promised Gramps I would help him clean out the Pokemon ranch.?
?Well thank you for visiting, it has been an honour.?
Gary laughed, he was a little more modest than in his trainer days.
?There is one more thing, when this meteor lands we need to investigate it. As the Grandson of Professor Oak, how would you feel about checking it out??
?Sure thing!? Gary shouted, running out of the silver sliding door. ?You have the number.? He quickly threw a Pokeball, which opened, spilling a red light, which formed in to a human like figure, with long arms with a spoon in each hand. Umbreon jumped on Gary?s shoulder, as the trainer grabbed Alakazam, and in a flash they vanished in a blast of the psychic?s Teleport attack.

    Meanwhile, in space?

Lasers shot from the flying balloon like Pokemon, covering the speeding meteor as it fell. The beams penetrated the rock, making contact with what was inside.

The crystal started to pulse faster as the laser scanned over it, it started to glow, to grow.

(Sorry about double post, couldn't get it all in one post)

The strange Pokemon?s red skin began to seemingly melt, becoming liquid like, as it started to flow around, changing its form. Its head changed first, the two fin like ears spiking out, as another one shot from the forehead. Meanwhile, the mighty Rayquaza had flown back a little, watching, waiting. The Pokemon?s upper body bulked out a little, making the lower chest slimmer, as it turned black, almost like armour around the central crystal core. The beast?s arms began to split as the fingers became tentacle like again, but this time they had spiked tips. Finally the monster?s legs morphed, remaining similar apart from a green horn coming from the knee.

The Pokemon looked up at the dragon, it?s tendrils pulsing as it looked straight in to Rayquaza?s mind.
The dragon roared, spreading its arms out wide, and charging down.
?You think you can defeat me?? These words burned in to the emerald beast?s thoughts as it swung its tail through the air. ?I am the ultimate Pokemon. A combination of nature and human intervention. I am Deoxys.? The huge dragon Pokemon seemed unfazed by this, and pulled his head back, his jaw wide open as he sped at this apparent psychic Pokemon. Deoxys also remained unalarmed at the Crunch attack that was heading for it, as the tips of its tentacle like appendages started to glow white. Instead of fleeing, Deoxys charged forward, and as Rayquaza?s huge jaw came towards it, released a powerful Ice Beam, the energy formed on each tendril joining together and firing straight at the attacker. The Sky God roared as the attack rocketed in to him, sending him flying back, and down on to the sand floor of the desert.

Deoxys stepped forward on its strange pointed feet, leaving odd prints in the sand. Looking straight forward it could see the glimmering of Rayquaza?s skin nearby, lit up by the sparks of electricity it was building up. With no hesitation, Deoxys began to shift form again, its limbs melding together, each tentacle becoming rectangular, the orange one over lapping the green. The horns, which sat on its head, melted down, dripping towards its body, and merging with it, until the head was attached to the newly formed bulky shoulders. The rest of Deoxys? body was covered in orange armour, apart from the crystal core. The legs shrunk a little, but in exchange became bulkier, allowing for more balance.

Rayquaza was charging at the psychic Pokemon again, this time charged with electricity. Yet again Deoxys held its ground as the Thunder Bolt attack was let loose from the dragon?s mouth. However, the alien beast did not do nothing. Its body started to shimmer, but in a different way to how it was previously. The electric lit up the sand below as it shot at Deoxys, who merely stood and took the damage, the attack dissipating on contact. Rayquaza roared, swinging it?s tail, and continuing to approach the foe again. However, Deoxy?s shimmering body started to glow, a ball of energy forming before it.
?Mirror Coat.? Deoxys boomed in to its opponent?s mind, as the projectile flew towards it. The huge dragon charged upwards, in an attempt to dodge, but it was in vain. The ball of energy hit the midway section of Rayquaza?s tail, exploding on impact, and sending the dragon plummeting to the ground. Its eyes began to close as the pain shot up its tail, searing through its body.

Deoxys glared up at the sky, as Rayquaza careered down through it, towards the sea of sand where Sandslash and Cacturne still lay. The Pokemon made an expression that resembled a grin as its foe crashed head first, showering the area in even more sand.

Deoxys looked around, with its core as the only nearby light source there was not much to see. Rayquaza was laying over the bodies of Sandslash and Cacturne, all of whom were unconscious.
With it?s job seemingly done, the DNA Pokemon returned to its normal form, its hands returning o their regular state. The beast walked forward, its now spindly legs leaving dot like footprints behind it. There was darkness behind it, darkness around it, but not in front of it. For, cutting through the veil of darkness was a single golden ring, soon joined by two red glowing eyes.
?Looks like this is the place.? Gary said, his voice shaking slightly at the sight of the strange Pokemon. To him, it had a Mewtwo like look about it, something which still send a chill down his spine.

As soon as the Space Center had discovered that the meteorite had landed, Gary had been contacted, and even though it was the dead of night, he had left straight away. He stepped forward, and Umbreon did the same, the golden glow from the Pokemon showing that he was not wearing the lab coat, but had instead opted for his old battle cape.

Instinctively the trainer reached for his Pokedex, and held it up facing the Pokemon.
?What?? Gary hissed, as the Pokedex informed him no information was available. ?Nevermind, I will have to code the information myself! Umbreon, go!? The small Pokemon ran at the ever-advancing Pokemon, growling at it, as Deoxys started to shift form again. As before, its arms formed in to two spiked tendrils, as did the fins on its head. Gary stared as the transformation took place, feeling the power of the Pokemon just by looking at it. Just then, he felt something enter his mind.
    ?Psychoboost.?

The trainer had felt this before, when he was fighting Mewtwo, but was more occupied on the approaching battle. He knew the said attack wouldn?t effect his Pokemon, giving him the upper hand.
?Faint attack!? Umbreon ran even faster, his rings glowing again as Deoxys was charging for its own attack. The red and green Pokemon released a burst of psychic energy, expecting it to have the same effect on Umbreon as it did on the two Pokemon earlier. However, the small dog ran straight through, the purple waves sweeping around it. Before Deoxys had a chance to react, Umbreon?s rings shone more intensely, absorbing the Dark type?s body. Moments later Umbreon reappeared behind the beast, ramming in to, and through, it.

With Umbreon in front of it again, Deoxys glared, it?s pupils running back and forth, taking in information about the Pokemon.
?Brick Break.? The deep booming voice said in to Gary?s mind.
?Umbreon!? The trainer yelled, ?Double Team!? Umbreon started to run in circles, the blurs it created following the real beast, all orbiting the space Pokemon. Deoxys pivoted on its spiked feet, following the foe. Suddenly it lifted it?s limbs high, and jumped forward, crashing down on Umbreon.

Or what it thought was Umbreon. The image vanished as Deoxys crashed to the ground, before springing back to action. On each tentacle formed sparks of electricity, as the Dark type continued to speed around. With one motion, the four ThunderBolts shot from Deoxys, and blasted around it. As a jolt hit the first Umbreon, it vanished, and the second, and the third. The fourth Pokemon skidded across the sand as the electric attack hit its side.
?Umbreon?? Gary cried, trying to analyse his Pokemon?s condition, ?Can you carry on??
The dog like beast attempted to nod, the huge amount of damage it had taken stopped it from doing so properly.
?Baton Pass!? The trainer yelled, trying to get Umbreon out of the firing line, whilst keeping it?s evasion boost. However, the next words to pop in to his head dropped his morale completely.
    ?Superpower.?

Umbreon winced as it tried to use the technique commanded to it, but fell to the ground, as Deoxys towered over it. The alien glared straight down at the black dog as it pulled back its arms, all of them glowing a golden colour. With one powerful swipe sand shot over Gary, soon followed by Umbreon, flying through the air, before his Pokeball caught him. Deoxys changed its focus to Gary, approaching him, whilst returning to its regular form.

His hand swept over his five remaining Pokeballs, thinking over which one to use next. However, a roar on the horizon took Gary?s, and the foes?, attention from the battle. The young researcher did not need his Pokedex to find out what this beast was, he had heard enough about it throughout Hoenn. It?s emerald green coat shone in the slightly rising sun, it?s eyes wide and determined.
?Rayquaza.? He murmured, slightly confused as to why it was here. That was soon made clear, however, as a golden Hyper Beam shot past the shape shifter, spraying sand up as it missed.

Apparently forgetting about Gary, Deoxys turned its back on him, and concentrated on the dragon again. However, unlike before, the beast was not heading at it, but up in to the sky. Another blast shot past its arm, followed by another above its head. Deoxys glared at it, Rayquaza was too high now. It needed to change tactics. It did not know, however, that this was the Sky God?s plan. Something clicked in the mutated Pokemon?s mind as it thought to Umbreon earlier. It?s Double Team attack was so fast, it needed something like that to catch Rayquaza.

The fins on Deoxys head doubled their size, as it?s abdomen started to point forwards, like that of a Siczor. It?s legs turned to that of its attack form, but continued to grow larger. Each arm melted in to a tendril, which the beast held up to it?s face, admiring.

Meanwhile, Gary, who felt he was no longer at risk, was busily making notes, with Houndoom?s Pokeball in his pocket, just in case.

The new sleek, streamlined Deoxys bent its legs before charging up in to the sky at an incredible speed with an Arial Ace attack. It placed its limbs by its side, giving minimum air resistance as it headed at Rayquaza. Now high above the clouds, Rayquaza glared down, locked on to the approaching foe as it charged a Hyper Beam. Deoxys was getting closer, moving at an incredible speed, but the dragon was used to speed, it was his fort?.

The beam seared through the clouds, gathering speed as it charged towards Deoxys, who was getting ever closer. With little effort the Pokemon gained altitude, speeding over the attack. However, the Pokemon was soon plummeting again, as it rose straight in to a second attack, a black scorch mark appearing on the middle of its head as it began to loose balance. Seeing his chance, Rayquaza sent another blast, followed by a second and a third. Deoxys let out a high pitched howl as a beam slammed in to its arm, sending the tendril falling to the ground below. The next beam shot between the alien?s mantis like legs, the third missing by a long shot due to the Pokemon sliding out of the way.

The two beasts were now extremely close, Rayquaza flying backwards, placing it?s tail between it and Deoxys. The latter continued to climb, knowing that as soon as it stopped it would start to fall back down to earth. The huge dragon did the same, grimacing a little as the fallen tentacle began to regenerate.

Back on the surface, Gary was looking up at the battle. All he could see now was the green outline of Rayquaza as an orange and green blur shot across, and what appeared through, it. As the Pokemon repeated this technique, presumably damaging it?s opponent and dodging the Hyper Beams heading its way, Gary was busy writing on his note pad. His recent work in the field of Pokemon research had made him interested in this strange beast, without it he would have merely forgotten about it, like he had with Mewtwo.

He hadn?t strictly forgotten about Mewtwo, but had repressed the experience. At that point in his life he was used to winning every battle he participated in. His Arcanine and Nidoking had wiped out anything that got in their way individually, so he assumed that together they would be able to take any Pokemon Giovanni threw at them.

He was of course wrong, the genetically created Pokemon, with its Power Suit, had defeated the two powerhouses with a single thought. It wasn?t that which was haunting him however, it was the feeling of Mewtwo inside his head, speaking with an omnipresent voice. It was a fighting machine, but there was something sad about it, something Gary sensed and recognised. It was a feeling of needing an existence, of not having a real purpose except for fighting.

The trainer?s mind quickly moved away from these thoughts, as he saw the blur that was Rayquaza lunge at the smaller one that was Deoxys. The Pokemon responded by charging forward, only to meet the dragon?s spiked tail. There was an almighty screech as the tail slammed in to Deoxys? chest, straight in to the core. Deoxys fell for a few moments, as if it was paralysed. Its eyes were blank, its limbs locked in the position they were when it took the impact.

The lifeless body started to plummet, as Rayquaza shot another Hyper Beam straight at it. There was a look of surprise however, when the Pokemon shot back up in to the air, it?s core glowing as it avoided the hyper beam, now pulsing more than ever. Deoxys flew around behind he Sky God, circling it, gaining altitude all the way. This gave Rayquaza no choice but to follow it. Neither Pokemon attacked, both were trying to get in a position to attack the other. The DNA beast shot through a cloud, looking down and waiting for the head of Rayquaza to appear through it. However, the Pokemon had begun to develop a plan. It knew these skies better than anyone. It wouldn?t loose in its own territory.

Deoxys was now suspecting something, using is psychic abilities to try and find the foe. It failed however, as the dragon crashed through the cloud, heading diagonally at its target. The speed-based beast flew up again, only to be followed by the enraged dragon, who was determined this fight was his to win. With a powerful Extreme Speed technique Rayquaza rammed straight in to his target, his nose hitting the crystalline core, rendering Deoxys immobile again. Acting quickly the legendary beast continued to fly up, grabbing the psychic type with its small arms.

Unnoticed by Rayquaza, the core was now glowing a little, it?s pulsing motion starting to return. However, the emerald beast was more concerned about gaining even more height. It could feel the pressure increasing, pushing down on it as it rocketed upwards, towards the edge of the atmosphere. As the beast pulled back its arms, the core of Deoxys reawakened, the monster quickly thrashing with its two limbs. Rayquaza had come too far to give up now though, and gave it his best shot.

Using the speed it had gained, and the power it had put behind its arms, Rayquaza released the captured foe, launching it skywards, towards the edge of the Earth?s atmosphere. Deoxys could feel itself melting as it travelled up, the speed it had behind it making it almost impossible to get back down. A tendril detached itself from its body, as did the other one, and both plummeted, loosing their shape as they headed for the ground. Rayquaza watched as Deoxys shot upwards, its body disintegrating until all that was left was a head, attached to the brain like core. The large fins started to drip away too, its eyes drooping before the head lost its shape completely and fell past the dragon. The core however, with all the momentum it had gained continued, flame building up around it as it left the atmosphere, heading to the space from where it had once came.

Rayquaza turned its head, loosing sight of its former foe, and began to head back down to Earth. Charging back through clouds, the beast thought nothing more about Deoxys. To the dragon, the threat was dead. It was no longer in his territory, and was no longer a concern. As the ground became visible again, Rayquaza returned to flying horizontally, zooming over the desert where Gary was standing, looking over a purple object which was once an arm of Deoxys.

Pulling a piece of cloth from his pocket, the researcher lifted the stationary blob, wrapping it up before placing it in his pocket again.
?Wait until Gramps sees this.? He said to himself, knowing that being the only researcher to have witnessed this Pokemon would greatly help his reputation. With no more hesitation, Alakazam appeared again, knowing it?s role. In a flash, both Pokemon and trainer had vanished, back to Pallet Town.

    Two months later..

?Sir, unidentified object located. Preparing to bring it on board.? The young astronaught said in to his radio, pressing at buttons. A compartment on the side of the rocket opened, a mechanical arm coming from it. Guided by the man inside, it swung at the now slow moving object, its claws closing around it, before bringing it back inside.
    ?Revenge.?
?Did you hear something?? A second astronaught said to his friend, through his protective helmet. They had heard of such things as space viruses, so knew they needed to be careful. Precautions such as their helmets were essential.
?No, you must be loosing it.? The other man said chuckling, ?Now that we have something, let?s get it back to Earth. I?m sure the guys back down there will want to test it.?

In its quarantine box the crystalline core sat, pulsing away, longing for a body again.
    ?Revenge.?

I may continue the Deoxys saga in another short story, but expect the Legendary Dogs next.

I like what I've read so far, now I'm reading the bottom post you just made. I like how you developed the story in a way the reader can imagine it. It's a good story so far,a and I'd like to see more ^_^.

    Interesting story.

A few things. The battle is certainly stimulating. The clash of the legendaries is not only origional, but also detailed. However, I found that the shift of focus from Gary to the legendaries was a bit disorienting. Also, sometimes I couldn't tell which legendary was attacking. Perhaps you could use their names more often. Finally, there were a few grammar errors.

However, overall, it was an excellent fan fiction. Great details throughout the entire posting and strong narration. While I may prefer a bit more plot, in short stories like these, you did a brilliant job.
