[FONT=&quot]Hello guys, I have decided to try my hand at a bit of fan-fiction. I forgot I had signed up here, and I love writing. Any reviews are welcome, and I'd be happy for someone to pick up on any mistakes I have made. Now, let's begin:

    [FONT=&quot]Prologue: War's Endings

[FONT=&quot]It had been a long fight. Zeta Force was ready to rally their troops at the now destroyed Cerulean City, and take it for their own. After a well fought battle, an unknown group had taken over most of the Kanto Region, leaving destruction in their path. Cerulean was their final stand, the final fight. The water seemed to swirl in an ominous way on that fateful day, the day the world changed forever.

Captain Granwall paced up and down, a cigar hanging out of his cracked lips. Gunfire could be heard in the distance, the cries of Pokémon had continued through the night. None of this fazed the captain; he was a soldier through and through. He dropped his cigar, as Zeta Force stood in attention. He began to speak, his crackly voice echoing through the lush trees:

"Today, is our day. Kanto's day. If we succeed, we take our homeland back. If we lose, we will have failed our land. Today legends will be made, and legends will fall. You have all fought with bravery, and I pray you continue in our final push." exclaimed Granwall. He turned to face the city, waiting for the all clear. One by one, Pokémon stood next to Zeta Force, their trusted partners. They would fight until the death, never surrendering. Then it wailed. The battle horn.

Zeta Force clambered down the hill, as gunfire erupted from the trees around them. A pack of Mighteyena also erupted from the trees, as the battle began. Zeta Force drew their AK-47's, and shot at the trainers of the Mighteyena. Zeta Force's Pokémon also joined the fight, easily defeating their ambushers. The fight lasted about a minute, and Zeta Force had triumphed.

They descended further into the city, as other forces joined them. Their enemy's main base was just ahead, as guards patrolled the perimeter. Zeta force lined up behind some trees, as the other forces charged. Gunfire could be heard again. Grenades began to explode, as Zeta Force was attacked form behind. A few of the members fell, as the forces struggled to stand their ground. They eventually conquered the bases defences, and marched in.

"Plant the explosives; we're gonna blast 'em to hell"Granwall ordered, smirking all the while. The explosives were planted, and the switch was delivered to Granwall. Everyone took cover at the nearby river, which lay next to a very ominous cave.

    "3...2...1"

[FONT=&quot]The base was destroyed, in a giant explosion only rivalled by the 4th of July. Zeta Force sounded their battle horn, signalling they had completed their mission, and in turn, taken back Kanto.

But it wasn't over. Granwall felt a prescence, and before he could act, he was flung to the ground by a tremendous psychic power, and so was everyone else. A shady group of people stole the battle horn, and began to talk.

"That Pokémon, in the cave, his power really is something, taking out this squad like that" one of them said, smiling.

"Mewtwo, throw them all in that river" Zeta force were gripped, unable to move themselves from their suppressor's power. It was all over. They were drowned, unconscious, and hopeless. It wasn't long before they were submerged, and deceased.

Kanto had fallen, and with it, all peace that existed in the world.

    Chapter 1 Slaves

The crack of the whip echoed through the solemn halls of the Pewter Slave Pens. After Zeta Force's failure at Cerulean City, Kanto fell to an unknown group of invaders. Ten years passed, and only a few safe havens are left in the now ruined region.

"Work, you maggot!"one of the slavers ordered, smacking the whip of a young boy. Th boy winced in pain, tears began to form in his blood shot eyes. He had had two hours of sleep the previous night, and he just wanted to see his family again. When Cerulean was invaded, the young boy was kidnapped at the age of three. He was thirteen now, and he was forced to build a giant stronghold for the group of people who had taken over his home.

The work the slaves were being forced to undertake was a giant mining excavation. The slavers were searching for something under Pewter City, but nobody knew what. The operation had been going for five months, and rumours had began to spread about how the excavation was almost complete.

Sunset bathed Pewter City in twilight, as work continued. The young boy had been allowed to stop, and he collapsed onto his straw bedding that lay under him.

"Mikey! Get yourself together! Mikey!"a man, another slave, began to wake the young boy. He began to awaken, rubbing his eyes. The boy slowly took in the man, his long beard, and the strong smell of cheap alcohol wafting off him. It was not like the man to wake him during his precious sleep, something must be wrong.

"Mikey! A slave is fighting the slavers! We are going to overrun them! i've got a pokeball here, let's move"he explained, handing the boy a pokeball. The boy stood up, clutching the spherical object tightly in his scarred hand. The man rushed off down the tunnel, as the boy followed.

A true rebellion had begun. Pokemon battles had erupted all around, as the slavers struggled to contain the riot. The boy jumped into the fray, losing the man somewhere in the giant crowd. He threw the pokeball, a a Pokemon emerged.

It was a Vulpix. A lonely little Vulpix, with cuts circling around it's body. It stared at the scene, bodies sprawled along the floor. A very dark scene indeed.

    The boy nodded to himself.

"Vulpix, tackle the slavers!"the boy exclaimed. The Pokemon refused to move. And instead sat on the cave floor. Some slaves turned.

"'Oi, we need you to use that Pokemon now!"one of the slaves shouted, as he was tackled to the ground by a slaver.

"Vulpix, this is your chance to get back at these thugs, C'mon, Ember at least!"he pleaded with the young Pokemon. The Pokemon suddenly realised who these people were, and released a group of small flames from it's mouth. The slavers were burnt, distracted by their burning bodies.

The riot continued, the slaves triumphed, and the slaves ran for the exit. The door was jammed, a cold footsteps followed them.

"How pitiful"a voice echoed. The slaves turned round, as a dark, tall figure wearing a black cape smirked.

"You pitiful excuse for human beings will not leave this place"he said, chucking a pokeball at the rocky floor. A Golem emerged.

"This Pokemon, it will be the end of you all..."he whispered solemnly.

"Golem, earthquake"he ordered simply. A tremor shook the caverns, as slaves began to fall to the floor. Struggling to open the door, the slaves slammed into it. Rocks began to fall from the ceiling. The door burst open, as the man from earlier found the young boy.

"Run, run to Viridian City, it's the last safe place in Kanto.'he said, narrowly dodging the falling rocks.

"The Kanto Resistance are based there, help them to take back our homes!"he said, pushing the boy out and slamming the door shut.

The boy, and a few other slaves, ran for miles, until they finally arched Viridian City. The boy quickly made his way into a giant structure in the middle of the city, which he assumed was the Kanto Resistance Base.

A man walked up to the boy as he entered the Base, and smiled at him.

"Hello there young one!"he said, smiling at the scarred, and scare young boy.

"I am guessing you want to help us here?"the young boy nodded.

"Well I will first need to know your name"the man explained.

    The boy cleared his throat.

    "I am Michael Zerus"he replied.
