Today my dad found one of those Sony e-Reader things on the bus, with no contact info or anything. I got home and him and my brother had just given up on trying to track down the owner, so I said I'd have a look and try and see. First I looked up the book titles, and found literally nothing, so then I looked up the authors and found that these books hadn't actually been published! Thus began my quest to find who or what linked all of the authors - four were novel writers, and one is a journalist/reporter. About ten minutes of trawling leads me to two wikipedia articles listing the same agent/representative, so I trawled the web for the rest of the author's agents - they seem to like having webpages that appear on the fourth google results page ¬¬
But theen I suddenly found that they were all represented by the same agency/publishing group, and, in fact, the same person! :D A bit of research on him gave me his email, his office address, his life history and basically everything I need to know about him. He also represents some seriously famous British celebrities and an entire football club O.o

My dad wanted to wait a bit before we contacted him, but this could potentially cause a blow to his job - five unreleased book drafts from top authors... what if my dad had been a crook, who then leaked the book drafts?

So I'm about to email him and be a little bit vague on the off chance that it isn't his, and hopefully he'll reply and we can get it back to him a.s.a.p. :D

Case solved - damn it's fun being a spy.

Edit: And my dad dropped it back at his office on his way to work :D

First its an e-boo. Second e-reader is a gba peripheral. Third you should have taken the books and make a profit. Kidding totally cool thing you did there.
