(Hello! I am...very new to this whole thing...but I had an idea I thought would be cool, and wondered if other people would be interested in it [so please go easy on me mods -_-"]. This is the story, and I am more than happy to welcome anyone who wishes to enter, just be sure to let me know first [also, yes, the Above and Below might be based on MC's Nether and End...but only a little bit].)
In the year of 2135, something strange happened in a research laboratory...in an attempt to communicate with parallel universes, scientists tore a rift big enough to allow a Mystery Dungeon-esque world to merge with ours, bringing intelligent, independent Pokémon into our world. However, there was more to it than that. While, yes, the Pokémon were introduced into our world....two new planes of existence came from elsewhere entirely: The Below, and the Above.
In the Below, it was mostly barren landscape, save for two main forests: the Forest of the Warped, and the Forest of the Crimson. Both were lands hostile to human life, not that it stopped many from trying to settle, in order to harvest the vast amounts of gold that could be found throughout the barrens.
The Above, a not-quite-space area, was filled with ancient machinations and ruined civilization from species unknown, all spread thin across floating islands of yellowish-white stone, with nothing to inhabit them but spindly purple cactus-like plants and the remnants of a time long forgotten.
Neither of these, the Above or Below, were of use to the humans, for they fell prey to the far more powerful Pokémon that crossed over. A grand war, spanning five years, marked this time...a war that the humans ultimately lost. Those that resisted the new rule of Pokémon over humans perished, and those that surrendered had their memories altered to believe that they were always the servants to the Pokémon that were rightfully above them.
As such, humans are now considered nothing more than convenient servants and workers, and treated as such or far more poorly by a good half of the Pokémon population. With their new 'servants' behind them, the Pokémon divided up the Above, the Below, and the Middleworld (the normal Earth plane) amongst themselves:
To the Warped Forest went the Ghosts, the Ices, and the more sadistic of the Fairys...
To the Crimson Forest went the Fires, the Darks, and the Dragons...
To the Above went the Psychics, the Flyings, and the Steels...
And the Middleworld was populated by those Types that remained, aside from the Fighting type, of which they found their homes in all places, as mercenaries, armies, and even rulers, in the case of the Below.
The Crimson Forest was ruled by a mighty Emboar, who's twin double-bladed axes were imbued with the power of Urshifu's Wicked Blow to deal critical damage in a single hit when lit aflame by the ruler's fiery beard.
The Warped Forest was ruled by a vengeful Annihilape, who's twin swords were imbued with the power of Urshifu's Flowing Strikes, ready to release a nonstop flurry of devastating blows when the ghostly ruler's anger reached a peak.
While each king of the Below despised the other, they understood that to fight over it would cause nothing but strife, and so decided to construct a massive arena to settle differences in. 'To the victor, goes the spoils' was their way of court, and one unchallenged, as both kings were as powerful as they were relentless.
As for the Above, it was ruled by the dictator Mewtwo, who used his domain's resources to study and understand the technology of those that came before, all in a quiet attempt to gain a foothold against the Middleworld and the Below, as Mewtwo was a dictator of many ambitions.
As for Middleworld itself, it found the mythical Mew to be its queen and ruler, who was gentle, perhaps a tad too much so. In an attempt to ensure lasting peace among all the Types, she sired children of many different species, in this order:
The eldest prince, the son of a Zoroark...
The eldest princess, the daughter of a Primarina...
The twin second prince and princess, children of Medicham, the boy inheriting the Psychic, the girl inheriting the Fighting...
The third princess, daughter of a Vileplume...
And the youngest prince, son of a Salamence.
However, right before she was heavy with the youngest prince, she fell pregnant with the son of a human...that son, that hidden prince, is Tolkhein. Half Mew, half human, and a true secret of the throne. Mew had made this decision in order to try and quell the growing unrest about the unfair treatment of the humans, but once he was born, thought it a foolish idea and sent him away.
Luckily, a kindly lady-in-waiting, a Gardevoir (who happened to have a son of her own at the time) thought that it was rather terrible to condemn a child for merely existing, and took Tolkhein under her protection, to raise him like a son to her, and a brother to her own baby Ralts boy.
This story starts on a day like any other, with Tolkhein in bed as the sun slowly begins to rise...
(...Well, hopefully this was good enough...I look forward to seeing those who are interested (^_^)/)
