I personally think the move recover should never be added to another game again. It makes me so mad when I almost knock out someone's pokemon and they just keep using recover. Plus I never use it anyways, so what's the point?

    Your thoughts on the move?

...Yes, as one person never using a move is more than reason enough for Gamefreak to remove it.

No, Recover should not be removed. There is nothing wrong with a 50% healing move that only a handful of Pokemon can learn, especially in a game where several attacks can easily do that much damage or more and when Recover does absolutely nothing for status inflictions. Besides, even if it was removed for whatever reason, there are plenty of other recovery moves to use in the game: Roost, Softboiled, Wish-Protect, Milk Drink, Synthesis, Morning Sun, Moonlight, and of course the classic Rest.

I understand, it's a very annoying move for me, too. But it has some variants, so if Recover was never in another game, there would still be Milk Drink, Softboiled, and Synthesis. Recover has helped me before in Leafgreen, so I have mixed feelings.

I love recover. I always have it on my Alakazam. The worst is when a legendary has it, but I guess thats the challenge. I also hate it when Snorlax uses rest, especially once he's done a million amnesia's

Then in that case, why don't they get rid of Splash. I know how you feel that recover is annoying, but I do bet there was a time in your life, that you had recover and it saved your life.

I love the move, Recover. Sure, I don't like it when the person I'm battling uses it, but I like it when I use it. It's very useful when your hp is low and it's a sandstorm.

    I agree with Queen Boo
If they get rid Recover then why don't they take out Splash

Splash serves only as a placeholder move for Magikarp. It can't have no moves, so it has Splash to demonstrate how weak it is.

Re: Recover. Man up and train your Pokémon more.

Recover is almost essential to any Porygon2. It might be slightly annoying (though not nearly as much as rest or soft-boiled, darned Snorlaxes and Blisseys), but usually in battle, a single recover still isn't enough to save a poké from being 2HKOed by my P-Zs attacks. Hehehehe...

Uh-huh, exactly. Also, Porygon 2 can spam recover to waste other Pokemon's moves with 5 PP.

Recover, as well as Softboiled, Milk Drink, Roost, Synthesis, Morning Sun, Moonlight, and Rest, are all legitimate tactics that balace well with the rest of the meta game. None of them are obscenely overpowered as they only restore half HP or vary slightly by weather conditions. Rest is the most infamous because of the ability to recover all HP and status ailments, but it comes at the cost of two turns of sleep.

Hell, in my personal experience, if it wasn't for the vulnerability to Ground-type attacks, I'd put Roost on my Crobat all the time. >_>

I never really encounter pokemon with the move recover.
Except for like an occasional Kadabra or Starmie. So for the most part I'm not bothered by it.

You know what? While we're at it, lets just get rid of Thunder Wave. That attack sure is annoying. Oh! And lets just throw out Earthquake, too. I hate that move. And you know Hyrdo Pump, Fire Blast, Thunder, Blizzard, Brick Break, Faint Attack, Teeter Dance, Odor Sleuth, Iron Tail, Growl, and all those other moves? Scrap that!

Honestly. The moves have a purpose if used correctly. There's more annoying moves than Recover and if GameFreak did away with every 'annoying' move, Magickarp's Splash would be all that's left. Karp Almighty.

Oh but... those moves make the game battling much more fun and challenging...
