There is a new show on YTV called "Pokemon Chronicles" and it shows episodes of things like what happens at Professor Oak's lab while Ash and friends are out on their journey. On the first (and only) episode I saw, the mayor's son (the mayor of Pallet Town, I guess) came to get a starter Pokemon. The 30 Tauros's (of Ash's) stampeded (sp?) through Oak's lab, and the Charmander, Squirtle, adn Bulbasaur ran away.

It's not new, it's the Special Episodes repackaged for the English audience. And at least Canada has them now apparently, they were released in England in the summer.

They'll be released in DVDs here in the US, just when.

It's a side thing. That's all. And currently, no Special Episodes are done. So just sit back and wait. But at least 4Kids is hitting the English speaking countries.

    Except here. Headdesk.

    Wait. What???

4Kids decided not to release the episodes on TV in America? Just on DVDs? Man, what's wrong with them?!

Yeah... I heard that it started airing in certain places quite awhile back... at least I know its coming here soon... on DVDS x__x ...but still...at least I'll see them... Maybe.

Oops, sorry. The show is new where I live. I forgot how many people live in so many different places. Sorry if I caused any confusion or anger.

Its because that even though Pokemon should be for older kids, it was rated children, so they don't make things like that become shows here in America.

It will come to America eventually ^_~ though it will never be packaged as a totally new show XD (they are just mere specials that were aired in Japan but never dubbed).

They might release them in the summer or winter, when KidsWB (USA now) doesn't air new episodes. This would give them a edge against their competitors who would be showing old episodes of their shows.

Yes, it would be a great idea, but I don't think Kids WB is that clever, be cheaper to air cheap anime than go through all that hoopla of an already licensed product and spend all that money.

Sorry, I'm just so cynical of networks anymore.

It make more sense to do that. I mean KidsWB been showing in shows of Pokemon what seems like forever. But then this point was brought up with they showed Movie 7 on KidsWB. That wasn't so wise. Recording for free.

News for you! Pokemon Chronicles is being aired in Latin America. So far, I've seen the Raikou special, the Brock and Misty episodes, and the Meowth special.

I was told that it hasn't been released in America, and that it won't be 4 some time.

Well, actually, they did edit the movie for commerical purposes, to get the whole thing, you kinda have to pony up the money to buy the DVD. That's the point. And besides, not everyone can pony up for the VCR or be available when it airs.

To fully address your point, I think it was a smart idea for them to do that because one, being to see if Pokemon is still a draw and it is, gained the highest ratings for Kids WB since 03. And two, if more people are drawed to the outside, or special efforts of the Pokemon saga (The movies, the Special episodes or God forbid, the CD dramas), then those hidden from us can hopefully get released. I thought seeing the special episodes were a pipe dream until this, so yeah.

    Enough digressing. Hee.

But from the recent posts, seems all but of us is going to see it. Headdesk.

CD dramas? I never heard of Pok?mon "dramas" before...

Even if WB did edit Destiny Deoxys, they did show just about all the features of the film. Had they edited anything out, it probably wouldn't effect the outcome of the movie. Still, your explaination does make sense, Dark Weezing.

Oh, and next to Yu-Gi-Oh, *shudders* Pok?mon is probably the only kid-drawer on Kids WB. (I'm just assuming this; I didn't consult ratings or anything)

And your last line sorta confused me...

And your last line sorta confused me...

In 98, the writers decided to do something different and write a CD Drama of the behind the scenes aspect of the Myuutsu project. Takeshi Shudo (Pokemon's head writer at the time and writer of Myuutsu) penned the CD and we heard about the Rocket Dan's past with Sakaki's mother and Musashi's mother as she risked her life for Myuu. And then later on with the scientists and their issues along with Myuutsu's birth and recruitment by the Rockets. Basically written on the issues of cloning and God and death issues and emotionally heavy issues and a drastic change from the tone of the series at that point (Think Season Two). Complete with the movie's soundtrack for a bonus.

Think of it like one of these Special Episodes. And then with the movie, get the CD Drama to get the full effect. 4Kids hasn't done it because of all the God references and as we've quite moved on, highly doubt it they'll go near it now. So if you want a translation, Serebii.net has them now.

Then for a lighter companion, they wrote another behind the scenes with Musashi/Kojiro and their helper Mondo, another white Rocket, who helped the duo off camera in Season One. I forget the official title at the moment. And with his fondness for Meowth, our Rockets switched Meowth with his Ditto and use it and got into major situations because Ditto cutely misheard all the commands. It's a hoot. Also continuity minded for it's right before Pikachu's Woods (Pikachu's Goodbye).

Well, after Yu-Gi-Oh ends next year, all we'll get is Pokemon as their draw and I don't think Yu-Gi-Oh is as strong as Pokemon (Think the Yu-Gi-Oh movie of last year). So yeah, they'll be kinda screwed.

And my last line meant all the English speaking countries except where both the traditional English and 4Kids originated from will see the Special Episodes before we do.

    All clear?

    Sounds good to me!

But still, couldn't you speak English that all of us could understand? If that line was gramatically correct, then I should pay attention in class more often...

I'm suprised that they actually made CDs of that matter for the series. Knowing 4Kids, why didn't they just translate it somewhat wierdly and edit out all of the God references? Is God really a big part of the first CD? In that case, 4Kids could alter the storyline a bit, like they did with Pok?mon 4Ever.

And I'd like to see another Rocket member that's out of the ordinary. Not to mention that Ditto...

Should Cartoon Network cooperate with WB, then WB could get Yu-Gi-Oh GX "re-runs" on... *still shudders*

Even so, I'd think WB is pretty much screwed up like you said, Dark Weezing.

My grammar isn't one of my strong points. So let's say both?

Yes, the issue of Mewtwo involving God is a biggie because "Which creator's role makes the creation of Mewtwo more vaild? God or Man playing God? Who is responsible?" That kind of role in his creation is why 4Kids thought to best stay away completely. And Pokemon 4Ever, yeah, they could have done that, but that was when 4Kids had enough sway to actually ask OLM to animate new scenes for them. When they were getting ready with the Mewtwo movie, 4Kids was still a small company, and not as much clout to have OLM redo anything.

And Mondo is a sweetie, I wished he could return. He isn't a villain, just wanting to help Kojiro and Musashi in any way he can.

Kids WB was doomed since X-Men Evo ended and not bothering with Season Three of Titans. Yep.
