Issue: The server is too busy at the moment

    What s the point in telling us there is Scheduled Maintenance when the server is down all the time? It really annoys me how the admins act like it doesn't happen, and even when it does, half the time don't even tell us why.

    Get a better server or just admit it's going to carry on happening just as much as before you removed name changes.
     
    What are you on about? I hardly ever notice downtime in the server after they removed name changes. Except during a scheduled maintenance.
     
    My point was, you shouldn't tell us there is scheduled maintenance that may affect the server, when before then the server will likely be down a couple more time anyway. And you won't tell us it ever happened!

    uh, I don't see your point. They can't tell when the server decides to crash, they can only decide when they'll have a server maintenance and they tell us.
     
    Ok I'm not an admin but I'll tell you: the server goes down. A lot. We are a high traffic site and sometimes even the superpowered server we have can't handle the strain. Trust me. We have one of the best out there. And the maintenance would be done regardless of recent server failures. These are done every once in a while. So just chill out.
     
    Um.

    We know for sure that the server will be down for maintenance on the 30th. So we're telling you ahead of time. If we knew that, say, tomorrow, PC was going to have too much traffic and slow down to a halt for a few hours, we'd tell you that too. But we don't know because that's not a scheduled maintenance, that's just us getting too much traffic for our server to handle at once.

    :/ We're not denying PC goes down, there's just nothing we can do about it. And when we know in advance that PC will be down, we give due notice. The other times are not planned so we can't give advance warning and there's no point in just posting to say "PC was down" because everyone who was trying to get online... already knows that.

    How about you try running a forum with thousands of users. If you still feel the same, well ok then. But putting yourself in anothers shoes helps you understand what is really going on. If you get so PO'ed about it just leave. There is a million other Pokemon forums for you to rant on. It's people that have to rant about anything and everything that goes wrong in life that are the "fun killers." So chill out or leave. Sorry to be so rude but I'm tired of reading your stupid rant comments on any/every thread you go on. Nuff' Said.
     
    I noticed this too, but I don't get ratty at the admins for it... sure I go a bit mental not being able to get on it (*twitch* nEed POke ComUnItY FoRumS?!?!) X)

    I've only come across it once, so I don't have much room to talk; I may end up ranting by your side eventually but I doubt thats going to happen since its just Pokemon. And this is just a forum. That doesn't mean the admins shouldn't/don't put enormous amounts of work into it though.
    So I say, chill out, take a step back, and realise that nothing can be done about it so try to find something else to do with your time.

    Staffers can't announce every little hiccup PC has. The reason why the servers have those hiccups is because PC is hard for Steve to pay off. Why do you think he has people donate money? It helps him pay for server costs so you can keep coming. It's not anyone's fault that they can't keep predicting when PC will be down.

    When they say it does go down that means they are taking it down in order to fix things so that PC will hopefully function better. It's not something that can be helped and its not easy going to a good server when you have to pay money for what we have now.

    Be lucky that PC is even around for your pleasure. D:
     
    The site has gone down many times for me... and it's sad but I know it's going to come back... eventually so I just go read Manga or something while I wait... maybe we should donate some money... too bad I can't... do you really need a credit card to donate?
    Alwell I'm glad this site was even created... who's steve... I have never seen him here before... has anyone meet him???
