The next released Japanese episode title should cause quite a row.

DP 69/Episode 538: Great Fashion! The Name Is Team Galactic!

That was dropped by STEELIXMANIAC on the Japanese Ep Title thread and confirmed on Serebii.net today. After almost 70 episodes into the new series and 33 since their cameo introduction, we (may) finally get a proper debut episode for Team Galactic.

Channel all speculation, spoilers and musings here. I don't know where to begin, except, "will it be worth the wait?"

By the "Great Fashion" bit, I'd muse that Jessie will go into her diva mode at some point. Other than that, all I'll venture to say is "FINALLY!!!".

    My mistake on the numbering, but it's 537, not 538. XD;;

Here's the summary by PPK on BMGf...

Ash's gym battle is over. The night before the guys depart, Reiji says there's something he wanna show them. Following Reiji, the guys arrives at a park with a meteoric stone lit up in the middle. The mixed scenery of light and meteoric stone is beautiful and impressive. Then appear a group of mysterious people who want to rob the stone...

Appears that Team Galactic wants to steal some meteorites which are present in Veilstone.

I'm hoping that Team Galactic doesn't appear for like a minute as Saturn did in the ruins episode, and that Team Galactic appears more frequently instead of once every, what, 25 episodes? And as much as I like Saturn (though the anime portrayal of him is a bit...eh at the moment...), I would like it if Jupiter or Mars or even Cyrus was here this time (though I must admit that "LOVELY FASHION!" doesn't exactly scream Cyrus to me). I really hope they have Mars and Jupiter be like their game counterparts and the grunts as well, but that might be too much to ask...anyway, there's not much to say about this episode yet, except for well, jee, took them long enough! I really hope they make up for it as well, and in light of that...

I really hope Jupiter won't be ignored for much longer. She's the most ignored and shafted out of the three commanders - skipped in the Special manga, skipped and replaced in the anime, commonly viewed as a slut/stripper/ugly/creepy whore, least developed personality in the games, she's the least liked of the three commanders, hardly has any fan art, only one or two Galactic fan fiction with her even in it, when she is featured in a fan fiction she is usually portrayed as a ***** with an untamable sex drive...yeah...being a fan of her, it doesn't sit with me well. :\

In any case, I am really looking forward to this episode.

    EDIT:
Something to kill off the frequent "Commander Mars is a cold-hearted fire-headed kickass acid talking ice queen" characterization would be great.

I'm just hoping we see more than jsut Saturn this time.

I am sure this episode will be good. Team Galactic is cool and all, but I hope they all appear in this episode.

Oops. Hee. I'll re-edit later. Anyway, with the plot, maybe we'll get a Deoxys reference, due to the meteorites? Shifty eyes.

Tonya, I'll work on Galactic fic from the games sooner or later, and try to be true to them (as I try my best to be). I always thought was Jupiter was a, well, female dog, but doesn't mean she should shafted, either.

I think a Deoxys reference would be a nice touch. Though, in the games, I remember there being multiple meteorites, not just one, and I think I remember looking over a scanned chapter in the Pokémon Special manga or something with a Deoxys that Mars attacked.

...You don't have to do that for me, Charaxes. It's just a little pent-up rant I rambled about, no need to pay any attention to it.

Or, to reference the fact the meteorites can alter Deoxys in its various four forms. Knowledge of Deoxys has been considerably mainstreamed since the hour-long Ranger episode.

Understandable, but, yes, I'm writing such fics for myself. The side benefit would be for frustrated fans like yourself, saying, "oh, he can get it right, after all." I didn't know the fandom's take on Jupiter, so I'll be mindful of her in the future.

I see a little mention of Deoxys too in this episode. Still just a tiny one maybe.

Su, I was wondering if they were going to cover Team Galatic. Personally I am a Mars fan since she has read hair and looks coolie. I hope they do finally introduce them now. It would be coolies to see more of them.

Also I mention this in the other thread I made but did anybody notice a building with satitlite dishes on it in this week's episode in Japan? Do you think that was suppose to be Team Galatic Headquaters? They do have that in Veilstone right?

Could be, Reyna. Anyway, Dogasu added the title to his Japanese title list and added an interesting footnote.

"Those Wonderful Fashion Guys! Their Name is the Ginga-Dan!!"
    (ステキファッション!その名はギンガ団!!)

"Those Wonderful Fashion Guys" (Suteki na Fashon) is the name the Rocket-Dan gives the Ginga-Dan since they don't know the organization's name.

    Dramatic irony abound. Heh.

Teeheehee Why you say that Charaxes? I mean isn't that the reason why Team Rocket dress differently from their other people? Su?

Spacesuits + bowl cuts > Team Rocket's outfit any day.

Well, yeah, but I think Dogasu was pointing out about a placeholder title, since J/J/M don't know Galactic. Or, if they do (they're savvy), it hasn't been said on-screen.

Actually, they did say it on-screen in DP 60, during the one-hour special (The first of the last two episodes of 2007).

    Oh? Huh.

Actually, I meant to say on whether or not J/J/M referred to them as "Team Galactic," specifically (Ginga-Dan being the Japanese term). Sorry. It's still a placeholder, though.

Well, they don't know the organization's name, so they just use that term ("Suteki na Fashon") to refer to them. In fact, they've most likely come across Galactic twice so far (coming to be thrice), but since TG is somewhat secretive, I am not surprised Team Rocket don't know their organization's name yet.

This is definitely exciting; I've been waiting for a real Team Galactic introduction. That thirty-second bit with Saturn just wasn't satisfying enough. I think they have the most potential to be actual baddies, what with the whole commander thing they've got going on. Sure there was Giovanni with Rocket, Maxie and Archie with Magma and Aqua, but the animé totally screwed up the latter two. Both teams turned out to be a big joke by the end of their arcs. Hopefully the writers won't make the same mistake this time.

Well, J/J/M seem to be on top of things, plus we don't know about Galactic's wide-known/accepted status in the animated version of Sinnoh (compared to the games). But, yeah, you just said my point, nicely, there.

Can't articulate clearly every time. Heh.

Well the thing is the first time Team Rocket met them, they thought they were fasionally dressed Team Rocket members just like themselves. Teeheehee Also I am not surprise Team Rocket doesn't know about them since they do spend more time in the woods then to listen to what is going on in Sinnoh news. They kinda just find out the news around the same time Ash and Friends does.
