That said, its stats look pretty solid though i'm trying to make sense of how grass+ground would work... That's 4x weak to flying and 4x weak to ice.. and grass and ground just seems like a rather bizare combo.. At least with Swampert it becomes one of the few pokemon that's resistant to bolt beam. What's grass+ground good for? poison and fire resistance perhaps?
One, Flying being unaffected by Ground does NOT make Flying supereffective against Ground. Two, Fire might be not-so-effective on Ground, but its supereffective to Grass, so it cancels out.
Piplup is cute but Enperuto's pretty ugly too. That said, water+steel is a very intriguing combination... Steel gives it a bunch of resistances, and water helps cover steel's major weakness in fire.. but it still has tbolt weakness.. Its speed is a problem because it won't be able to take advantage of its high sp.att, and it's hp is too low to make it a tank with its high sp.def.
Steel is resistant to Elec, meaning that Thunderbolt will do the same thing to Enperuto as Fire does to Dotaitos.
Chimchar is a decent looking pokemon(i think it looks pretty cool), though not original.. It's pretty obvious that Goukazaru looks more like Son Goku than a pokemon.
Well, that's the first time I heard THAT comparison o.0
That said, It's stats are great, his move pool is HUGE, and most of the moves are quite excellent, allowing it to be a versatile sweeper. Yeah, he's just a slightly different version of blaziken, but its speed is the fastest of all fire starters, and it has excellent att and sp.att. I really like his potential as a sweeper. I would probably pick him.
Edit: Got to say these are 3 of the worst looking starters to date though.. They're either poorly designed, or they lack originality. My gf was really looking forward to this game but now she doesn't feel like playing the game just because she finds the starters ugly.
