Comment: Ah, the two characters from Death Note that nobody ever cared for. Well, I got this banner made with hardly any effects done at all.. just crop, brush, border, and layer. No painful textures, gradients, rendering and brushwork for me.

I love the L one very much <3

I think 6, 7, and 8 are a bit crowded. for banners I like simple images with some nice brushwork more, when they get too crowded they tend to annoy me.

other then that, there isn't much I can say I guess.
(except for, wow, I've still got a loooooong way to go)

This should be fun. I'm going to crit everything. The first ten or so should be really good, but as they go on, the critting will be shorter and lazier and stuff. But you better damn well read all of the crit xPPP

.o1 You know what's wrong with it. The text is just ok, the brushing is too bright and stuff, and you obviously don't care because that was an old banner xP

.o2 I think it's a little boring, and the blury thing with the animation bothers me a lot.

.o3 Same as number two with the boringness. I don't like how it was made either, but that's just me. Once again, it's probably old so I can't crit it correctly since you've improved since then.

.o4 I don't like how the image is so dark that you can't see it (I suppose that you were experimenting with the burn tool?) and the color of the text isn't something that I love.

.o5 I like this one. A lot. The only problem that I have with it is the vertical lines that are set to something which I'd say is a 35% opacity level. They just kind of cut off, and don't fade. I don't know why, but it bothers me.

.o6 I'm not fond of it either. The image and the brushing are two totally different styles. It's like wearing pink sweat pants with a zeon green shirt.

.o7 I don't like how busy it is and how low the opacity of the image is. It's like it brings the attention from the image to the brushing, which wouldn't be good in that banner's case.

.o8 I dislike how little contrast the actual image has. In other words, the brushing and stuff has a contrast too high for the actual image. You're lucky that it worked out for that particular banner.

.o9 I like everything but the border. I do not know why; it could just be a thing with my style or something.

.1o To me it's just brushing with japanese symbols and a small hint of a brush stroke on the second layer. Not my favorite; but yet I'm also not a fan of really bright colors.

.11 I wouldn't say it's a complete failure, but ya. You're pretty close. You probably learned a lot from it though.

.12 I don't love it. It's good, but something about the way it's lighted distracts me a little.

.13 Same as number twelve, but for this one I think the lighting is pretty cool.

.14 The brushing is definitely my style, but it doesn't really match with the image to me. I like it generally though. The brushes are amazingly sexy <33

.15 I agree with your comment. I don't like the brightness either.

.16 The images are too contrasting for the background. You went with just one of the images for the color scheme, and it made the red thing look odd. Don't just use one or two colors.

.17 And yet the simplicity of it makes it perfect. I like.

.18 Don't like. The hair is too blue on the image for the shade of purple that you chose. A different image though would make it look really REALLY cool.

.19 I guess it's ok. I personally dislike it a lot with the text and the border and such, but the back background is decent.

.2o Too purple and "hardcore-ish" for what looks like innocent images.

.21 No crit for this one. I love it.

.22 I like it and I don't. There's something about it that makes me wonder. I don't know...

.23 It probably did, but I still don't love it. It seems blury and there's almost too much lighting with it. If it came like that I would have burned it just a little bit. Not too much, but enough to have it not scream light at you.

.24 Don't love. Chikorita and Chimchar's heads are cut off. That's pretty serious. I would've brushed over it in some way.

.25 Vertical lines helped soften the "pow" colors. But they were too much and it blanks out the image. It's way too busy.

.26 I like it, but the right side of it seems odd to me. Yet again, that's just me, but, as usual, it still bothers me.

.27 I agree with you. Too pink. You used what I use all the time with the brushing though. You used a tougher brush on an innocent picture in a way that made it work.

.28 I don't like the text choice. Other than that it's ok.

.29 I love this one. It's my favorite and I don't have any real crit for it.

.3o Don't love it. If that's an outer glow you used, it shouldn't really be there imho. I just don't like it.


Overall, pretty good.
