    A large percentage of people who buy pokemon games are kids. 10 and under. And mostly boys. And what do little boys like? Cool looking things. They thought that Groudon looked cooler than Kyogre (since Groudon is a big red lizard and Kyogre is a weird-looking whale to them), so they wanted Ruby instead of Sapphire.
     
    Not to be rude or anything but what does this have to do with anything really?I mean that is a true staement and all one I thought of.It is mosty likely a fact to if we had a survey so im gonna redo this question and say...

    Which and Why did you buy the version you did?
     
    Most of the people who come here aren't little kids. But oh well. I got Sapphire because I liked the pokemon only found in it more than Ruby's.
     
    i got both but i play sapphire more because i like blue :P
     
    My first was Sapphire, reason being, it was the only game they had in stock, and I think that Ruby is more famous that Sapphire, reason being, Ruby is the best at refrating light

    exactly.

    i remember i was planning to get sapphire, but at the last minute at the store i got ruby instead for a reason i don't remember. i've always liked mantine, and kyogre reminded me of it which is why i wanted to get it. and groudon looked slower in battle and i like faster pokemon too, but turns out they both have the same max speed.
     
    I htough that Groundon was evil lookie...and I got sapphire becuase...of no reasonXD besides Kyogre looked cuter^^
     
    I got saphire because i thought Kyogre was the coolest out of the two. But then again i think all marine life is cool :D another reason because i heard Kyogre is better against the elite four. guess they were right because i beat them easily with basically two pokemon. Blaziken at level 68 Kyogre at level 65.
