Sick of losing with my current team, I decided to do a complete revamp of it, this time starting with a late sweeping strategy and building around that, rather than just throwing in a few pokes randomly and trying to cover their weaknesses.
Tauntrados @Leftovers
Adamant: Intimidate
212 HP/16 Atk/180 Def/100 Spd
Taunt
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Classic Gyara lead. Taunts leads that need to be taunted, otherwise either switch out to a counter or DD on the switch and see what comes out. Useful fire resist since Forretress is my physical wall.
Forretress @Leftovers
Impish: Sturdy
252 HP/252 Def/6 Atk
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Mmm I like this Forry. Spins and sets up Spikes, and also can score some surprise KOs against the likes of Magnezone and Heatran. Gyro Ball has saved me more than once and does well, especially against speed-buffed physical sweepers.
Scarfran @Choice Scarf
Modest: Flash Fire
252 SpA/252 Spd/6 HP
Lava Plume
Earth Power
Dark Pulse?
HP Ice
What to put in the 3rd spot? I feel like Dragon Pulse is unneeded due to HP Ice. Explosion, perhaps?
Roserade @Black Sludge
Timid: Natural Cure
252 HP/4 SpA/252 Spd
Substitute/Toxic Spikes
Leech Seed
Aromatherapy
Grass Knot
I needed a cleric and a grass attack, and whala, here it is! I've had pretty good success with this in the past, the problem is just finding a good time to switch her in.
DDMence @Life Orb
Naughty: Intimidate
252 Atk/136 Spd/120 HP
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Flamethrower
My main late sweeper, this whole team's objective is to clear out threats to him so he can clean house. Also my only real chance at Hera as long as I don't switch in on a Stone Edge.
Vaporeon @Choice Specs
Bold: Water Absorb
188 HP/252 Def/70 SpA
Ice Beam
Surf
HP Electric
Wish
Yes, I read the battle log in which this was used, and yes, that's what gave me the idea. Surf > Hydro Pump, though. This is my Gyara counter, and even bulky versions are OHKOd by HP Electric, along with taking little damage in return, especially if I can switch in on a Waterfall. Ice Beam takes care of any dragon with the exception of Yache, in which case Chompy takes 75%.
Overall, I feel like Hera is still quite a big threat to this team. I'm also lacking a priority move, a really speedy sweeper (maybe I should go with Scarftran?), or a true special wall. Perhaps I should just cave and use cleric Blissey instead of Roserade, but that would leave me without a good Swampert killer, not to mention my dignity.
