Ok, so this is my first fan-fiction. It is about a trainer's first pokemon. It's not very good so please give me constructive criticism about it.

Brick was a young boy, he was rather tall for his age and had long blonde hair. Today was his tenth birthday, and proffesor Oak had called him to his lab to recieve his first pokemon. As brick walked to the lab his childhood friend, Gaynor stopped him in his tracks.

"And what do you think you're doing getting your first pokemon without me, do you remember our promise!?" She asked, quizzically.

"I remembered alright! I was going to wait for you at the lab." Brick replied cheerily.

They had promised to get thier first pokemon together. It was Gaynor's birthday the week before, and she had been putting off getting her starter pokemon for Brick, so that they started their journey together. They both set off to Oak's lab. When they got to the door, they were greeted by one of Oak's younger assistants.

"Why, hello there Brick and Gaynor!" He yelled.
The two youngsters ran past him eager to get thier pokemon.

    "OAK! OAK!" They shouted.

"Slow down kids!" He shouted. Unfortunately, they were too late and both ran into the professor, knocking him over in the process.

"You kids never listen! Calm down!" He yelled.

"We're sorry Oak." Brick replied "We're just so excited to start our pokemon journeys!"

Oak rubbed his head and looked around, noticing that in the confusion the table with the pokeballs on had been knocked over.

"Ahhhh, darn." Oak said. "I'll never be able to tell which pokemon you are getting now!"

Brick was not too bothered about his first pokemon, and instantly chose without thinking.

"This one!" He shouted, holding up a pokeball with a dark pattern on.

"Now now, that is a difficult pokemon to train." Oak replied.

"What is it!? I want it!" Gaynor screamed.

"Now, now, children, listen here. That pokemon is a Zorua." Oak said.

"Oh cool!" Brick said. "My uncle used to train one!"

"Oak, what is my first!?" Gaynor asked, holding up a pokeball impatiently.

"That pokemon is Kangaskhan it-" Oak replied, but Gaynor interrupted.

"Hey listen, Brick my pokemon is Kangaskhan! I'm going to be a master faster than you!" Gaynor teased, running off in a hurry.

Before Oak had a chance to explain about pokemon, the two young trainers were out of the lab and at route 1.

"GO, KANGASKHAN!" Gaynor shouted throwing her pokeball at a nearby pidgey. The pidgey, startled, got ready to fight. Brick caught up to her and was out of breath. It was then he realised she was already fighting her first battle.

"Hey, no fair! Your pokemon is huge compared to that pidgey!" Brick shouted. Gaynor was too busy looking at her new pokemon to care, she was ready for her first battle...

To be a master chapter 2

Okay, I was waiting until people replied to chapter 1, but nobody did so I thought I'd just write chapter 2. This is what happened last time...

Gaynor froze; she had no idea what to do next.

"What do I do!?" she panicked.

Oak managed to get there just in time.

He instructed the Kangaskhan to attack the Pidgey.

    "USE HEADBUTT NOW!" he ordered.

The Kangaskhan did as it was tlod and the Pidgey was sent catapulting
    through the air.

    The Pidgey fainted.

"Woah, thanks Oak! I guess I sort of rushed into things..." Gaynor apologised.

"It's okay. I've seen many Trainers do this! It's nothing new." he replied.

"I think it might be better if you had a more obedient Pokemon that is easier
to train." Oak said, returning the Kangaskhan to it's Pokeball.

"Hey, that's not fair!" she exclaimed. "Brick gets to train a Zorua!"

"Now, now Gaynor. I think I have the perfect Pokemon for you." he comforted.

"Follow me to the Pokemon Center!" he yelled, running into the distance.

They both burst into the Pokemon Center, with Brick in tow.

By the time Brick had caught up to them, Oak was already on the PC, and he was getting a Pokemon out.

He withdrew a blue Pokeball with a fist on it and handed it to Gaynor.

Brick was too far away to see what was going on, but Gaynor looked excited...
