Togekiss and EV's.

I finally got my female Togekiss with nature Serene Grace and will give it Leftovers.
The moves I find that I want are Extremespeed, Air Slash, Roost and Thunderwave.
There is one thing Im wierded out about. You know people are looking for PKMN with an EV? Whats an EV? And how can I get an EV'd Togepi/Togekiss? Is the chance of getting an EV'd pokemon the same as getting a shiny pokemon? I want my Togekiss to be the a good Togekiss, a special one. So the next time I battle someone, I want one thats good. (Doesnt everyone?)
So please help me, a noob. :P Not really, but I think I am.)

My second post... Does a PKRS pokemon consider as being an EV'd Pokemon? I have a couple of PKRS'd pokemon and it stats seem better than the ones I trained w/o PKRS.

An EV'd Pokémon is a Pokémon trained in EVs. There are stickies where you can read about EVs. It basically means trained to have better stats. PokéRus does help you EV train.

yeah basicly what evilchese said, haxkiss can get pretty annoying, but doesn't work well, cauz they'll just switch out after u paralyzed them...

EDIT: also to EV a poke is to ev train it, if u don't know what that means this is a simple run down...

every time u battle a poke it gives u 1-3 evs for 1 stat, basic evolutions/babies etc will give u 1, evolved once then 2 etc.
for every 4 (i think correct me if im wrong) u get 1 boost in that stat, each poke can only get 510 EVs and one stat can only have a max of 256.
