YOU CAN ONLY USE POKEMON UP TO GEN 3.
I'm sorry if this is a hindrance, but I loathe Gen 4 and I haven't played Black or White, so I know nothing about those Pokemon. It's more for my convenience than everyone elses, honestly.
Also, sorry about the spoilers, but this is a fairly lengthy post.

Spoiler:
It all started when the Creature discovered Earth. The Creature was a being of pure curiosity; always seeking to know more. It had been gathering knowledge for eons, but this was the first time it had seen life of any kind. True to it's nature, it began to examine the world with life. It never interfered, for interfering would spoil the natural development of the living beings. Eventually, these living beings began to call themselves 'humans'.
But then, something unexpected happened. A great meteor shower fell upon the planet, causing the deaths of almost all the humans and destroying all their rudimentary technology. But inside those meteors were hundreds of eggs. Out of those eggs came strange beings, the likes of which had never been seen before on the planet, or any other planet the Creature had visited. The Creature was intrigued. It watched the relationship of the humans and the creatures carefully. As the humans evolved, they made friends with these alien life forms, calling them 'Pokemon'.
The humans became more and more advanced, and the Creature became more and more intrigued. Eventually, the Creature decided to come into contact with the humans. However, the Creature was incapable of changing shape, and it was afraid of scaring the humans with it's true form. Thus, it decided that a select few would be able to meet it. Those few would have to be smart, brave, and talented. The Creature went into a worldwide database, and created the persona 'Mr. Creat'.
Mr. Creat was supposedly an extremely wealthy individual, although no one knew anything about him. He hired a construction crew to build a giant complex in the mountains, only accessible through a train tunnel that ran underground. The complex was made to house 5000 people, although the Creature knew that there were going to be far less people there. The construction crew were made into permanent staff, so that the location would stay secret. The Creature hired more staff in secret, so that the complex would always be fully operational for when it was needed.
With the first step of it's plan done, the Creature launched an advertisement for a large tournament, sponsored by Mr. Creat. To get to the final tournament, a trainer had to beat a local tournament, and then a regional tournament. After winning both of those, the trainer would be given the location of the train tunnel, and would be sent to the final tournament. But the Creature wasn't satisfied with having people who only relied on their Pokemon. The final stage of the tournament was different than the others. Instead of fighting with Pokemon, the trainers were forced to fight by themselves. However, the Creature wasn't going to make them fight only with their natural strength. The final tournament was going to be a fight that showed the true strength of the trainers. Using a virtual reality battle system, the Creature was going to create a game like no other. It was called PVBS; the Pokemon Virtual Battle System. With everything prepared, all the Creature had to do was wait...

Where you come in:
Spoiler:
You are one of the trainers who has won the regional tournaments. You have just boarded the train to the Complex. You may be sitting solemnly in the corner, or trying to chat with the other people. After a surprisingly short time, the train comes to an abrupt stop. As all the passengers leave, you see a large hologram above you. It shows the silhouette of a person, but you can't distinguish much else. "Hello and welcome to the final tournament," The hologram says in a robotic voice, "I am Mr. Creat. This final stage of the tournament is like nothing you have ever seen before. For this stage, I have created a new way of battling. I call it the PVBS, or the Pokemon Virtual Battle System. This system allows you to battle within a contained environment, with no real physical damage to yourself. Now, you will be escorted to your room. At 9:00 A.M. tomorrow, you will report to the tournament center. Best of luck to all of you." And with that, the hologram disappears. A staff member comes up to you and asks to see your Pokemon. You agree, and the staff member pulls out a small machine and scans each Pokemon. When he finishes, he hands you a badge, telling you not to lose it. The next day, the tournament will begin...
How the PVBS works:
Spoiler:
As you may or may not have guessed, this RP is not about fighting with Pokemon, nor is this RP made for fighting as Pokemon. This RP is based around fighting using a Pokemon's abilities. In the PVBS, you will gain some of the abilities of the Pokemon that you registered for the tournament. Each Pokemon's abilities are stored inside the badge that you are given. Abilities may take a variety of different forms:
The form that abilities take will be assigned randomly by a random number generator that I use.
Each form has a rating from 1 to 5; 1 being the weakest and 5 being the strongest. All ability forms start at 1, but the more you use them, the higher their rating gets. When a form's rating is 5, it will gain a special trait based on the original ability. For example, a sword made with Flamethrower may gain the ability to launch a wave of fire.
Each Pokemon that you start with will have 3 abilities; 2 formed by their moveset and 1 formed which Pokemon it is. The moveset can be any move they learn naturally; check Serebii for information. Since we are only using Pokemon up to Generation 3, you should use the R/S/C/FR/LG/E Pokédex to check the moves. Once again, the moves from their moveset that will turn into the abilities will be randomly selected. You may have 3 Pokemon, preferably from level 40 to level 70. You are a tournament winner, so you most likely have strong Pokemon.
Every day, each person will go into the PVBS, and each person will have a different goal to accomplish. No one knows the other people's goals, so working together may be beneficial. Backstabbing is completely legal, though. Some goals will require the players to directly work against other players, while some goals will pair people together. The environment will change on a day-to-day basis, but all of the players will be in the same virtual world. You will not always accomplish your goal, though most days you will. There is no time limit, and the session ends when all the players have either achieved or failed their goals.
You can catch Pokemon while within the PVBS. Every day when you enter the PVBS, you will get 3 Pokeballs that are selected at random, unless your mission states otherwise. The different types of Pokeballs are:
Once you catch a Pokemon, you will get up to 3 ability forms from that Pokemon. The higher level the Pokemon is, the more chance you have of getting all 3 abilities. Legendaries automatically have 3 ability forms, and a special 4th ability form that is exclusive to legendary Pokemon.

Spoiler:
Weapons: Weapons can be used for standard melee and ranged combat. Some examples of weapons are swords, whips, guns, bows, and knives.
Armor: Armor is anything used for protection; it doesn't necessarily mean that it is actually armor. Some examples of armor are shields, helmets, bulletproof vests, and gas masks.
Enhancers: Enhancers are trinkets that, when used, enhance skills, abilities, or other objects. Enhancers usually take the form of small wearable objects, such as rings, glasses, bracelets, gloves, and necklaces. Some examples of what an enhancer can do are allow protection from a certain type, boost the power of a weapon, or enhance physical capabilities.
Arcane: Arcane is the most similar to regular Pokemon attacks, and does not take the form of an external object. Rather, it gives you the power to use that ability yourself. For example, if you were to use the arcane ability Water Gun, you would spray water out of your mouth. Some arcane abilities require the user to morph partially into the Pokemon that originally had the move. Arcane is the rarest of the 4 forms.
