    Hi,
    I was just wondering if it was possible to trade between games if for example I put the cartridge of Alpha Sapphire into the slot and have the virtual Omega Ruby installed on the same device?

    This could then enable me to evolve things like Haunter :)

    This will not work in the way you are trying to do so. In-order to trade between your own two games you need either; another 3DS/2DS system or download Pokemon bank from the Nintendo E-Shop and trade/transfer your Pokemon between the two games on only one device. Pokemon Bank works with Pokemon XY and ORAS. I believe there is a small annual fee of $10 to use Pokemon Bank, although I also believe your first thirty days are free. Just an FYI, if you lose your membership and you still have Pokemon left in the Bank when you do, those Pokemon will be forever lost. Hope this helps!

    Would using the bank this way also trigger evolutions?

    nope bank doesn't evolve them, the only way to trade evolve is with 2 3ds's or 2ds's, you can however ask for a tradeback in the trade corner :)

    Is that something on this forum or a feature within the GTS? (just concerned I won't get it back :P)

    Thanks, that's good news. I'll have to wait until January anyway to get Gastly / Haunter from Pokemon yellow or blue etc into the bank.

    I read somewhere they are closing down support for this game on the Global Link. Does this mean I would not be able to request a trade back?

    nah mate, the global link is only the stuff to do with the website (game sync etc.) you can still trade over wi-fi (which is what the tradeback would use)
