    If I bought the Japanese version of D/P (assuming I can play it on my PAL DS, if there's anything I should know about playing NTSC games on my DS please let me know, like how saving NTSC games on the GC wipes your memory card of all PAL files), would I be able to trade the pokemon from that copy to the PAL copy when I get it?

    The DS is region free, you can play games from everywhere on it.

    Well, there is currently no guarantee, since the games haven't been released yet, that you'll be able to trade between 2 language versions, but it's very likely going to work, since it also worked with the 3rd gen games and now that D/P supports WiFi, it would be stupid if you could only trade between versions of the same language.
