Trainer in need of help...

Hi I'm in need of help from trainers who've beaten the devilish beast twins Tate & Liza....for some they're easy to beat but I just can't seem to take them down. By the way..I play Emerald. I'm in need of tips....but to start...please analyze my team:
-Graveler: Lv 42
: attacks - strength, rock smash, magnitude, rock blast
-Blaziken: Lv 39
: attacks - blaze kick, aerial ace, quick attack, ember
-Azumarill: Lv 46
: attacks - rain dance, surf, rollout, bubblebeam
-Solrock (temporary): Lv 38
: attacks - psywave, fire spin, confusion, rock slide
-Swellow: Lv 34
: attacks - fly, wing attack, double team, quick attack
-Magneton: Lv 37
: attacks - supersonic, sonic boom, thunder wave, spark

If there's something wrong with my team...then tell me..or suggest some tips for changes or something... I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some strategies and advice to beating these two. Thanks a lot for everyone who can help.

If you have the TMs Protecct amd TOxic. GO for it. It's much better to inflict status conditions that do it mano to mano.

to which pokemon will I teach protect and toxic? well..I have a torkoal which has protect but its vulnerable to earthquake of their claydol....hmmm...:\

Your best choice for this gym is a suiped up starmie

Surf, Tbolt, Recover, and a filler

Surf kills Claydol, Solrock, Lunatune, and tbolt kills xatu
None of their pokemon can do anything to a starmie
And you should get rid of solrock on your team as graveler outshines it with their current movesets
And your azumarill should not know any sp.atk as it is not that special oriented. Starmie takes zumarill spot while you could get a flygon which suits your team

I think you should set your sights beyond just beating Tate and Liza. If you can't beat them, the Elite 4 will be even harder to take down.

Anyways, here are Tate and Liza's Pokemon:

As you can see, they're going for a sort of Sunny Day+Special attacking strategy, so even though 3 Pokemon are weak against water, Sunny Day and Light Screen solves that problem. Your best bet is to get a strong attacker that knows Shadow Ball. Your own Solrock is the only Pokemon on your team that can learn it, but it's a very good choice for this gym since it's immune to Earthquake and resistant to Psychic/Flamethrower. Your other teammate can be Azumarrill since you can use it to Rain Dance which totally messes up their strategy.

Anyways, I know that you're still training, but your team needs some fixing in order to look its best, so lets see what we can do. First off:

*Never give a Pokemon two attacking moves of the same type (except in very rare circumstances, see Swellow). That means no two Water attacks or Flying attacks or Electric attacks or whatever attacks on the same Pokemon.

*Don't use any HM moves on your main Pokemon except for Surf. All the other moves are bad. If you need to get around the game, give them to a Pokemon that you don't want to raise, like Zigzagoon or Spheal. These Pokemon are considered HM slaves since their only real purpose is to carry HMs for you to use in your travels.

-Graveler:
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Explosion
Double-Edge/Counter

Hopefully, you're gonna evolve this Graveler. Anyways, it'll obviously need Rock Slide and Earthquake, the strongest attacks in both Rock and Ground categories. Explosion, for when you're low on health, kills just about anything not resistant to it. Now if Graveler has the Rock Head trait, use Double-Edge as the last move. Otherwise, go with Counter.

-Blaziken: Lv 39
Sky Uppercut
Fire Blast/Flamethrower
Bulk Up/Swords Dance
Rock Slide/Thunderpunch

Though it's not at a high enough level to learn Sky Uppercut, that move should be your Fighting attack. As for it's Fire move, Fire Blast or Flamethrower work well and will do consistently more damage than Blaze Kick.
Bulk Up or Swords Dance as your Attack booster.
Try to get another Rock Slide tutor, otherwise go for Thunderpunch (you have Emerald anyways).


-Azumarill: Lv 46 Trait: Huge Power
Substitute
Focus Punch
Encore
Return/Iron Tail

Azumarill's special attack stat is horrible, even with STAB, it's water attacks won't be doing much damage. If your Azumarill has the Huge Power trait, put it to good use as a physical attacker. Otherwise, replace it for a better water type. You mgiht as well, seeing as you have only 1 true special attacker on this team. Like ice_blade said, Starmie is a nice choice.

-Solrock (temporary): Lv 38 Item: Choice Band

Shadow Ball
Earthquake
Explosion/Fire Blast

If you decide on keeping Solrock, it will be a nice asset for beating the 7th gym with Shadow Ball. However, Solrock also gives you a 3rd Water weakness. Either Golem or Solrock will have to go. Golem is not that much better than Solrock. It has higher Attack and Defense, but Solrock has immunity to Ground moves and has no 4x weaknesses to any type.

-Swellow: Lv 34 Item: Choice Band
Aerial Ace
Return
Steel Wing
Quick Attack

Dodrio is way better, but Swellow has its uses with Guts. Some pretty explanatory moves here. Swellow has Aerial Ace and Return for STAB and Steel Wing to take on Rock types. Quick Attack is there because Swellow can't really learn any other good move. Even though it already has a Normal move, Quick Attack is a special case since it's not just a plain old attack, it's a first-strike attack and may help out in a pinch.

-Magneton: Lv 37

Thunderbolt
Metal Sound
Reflect

Magg can't really learn many good attacks and against Ground types, it's pretty much screwed. Give it your best shot with Thunderbolt and use Metal Sound if your up against another Electric or Grass type. Reflect will have to do for your last move. It can at least help out your teammates.

SWELLOW NEEDS FACADE!!!!!!!!!!!
Guts+Stat+Facade=death to almost anything. I can kill some of the best physical walls in the game, including uber phy walls, with one shot of Facade with a stat condition in place and a Choice Band.
Guts boost to attack x1.5
STAB boost to move's power x1.5
Facade psn boost to attack x1.5
CB boost to attack x1.5

295 ATK max at lvl 100
105 power attack with STAB in place
This creates a 996 Attack power Pokemon using a 105 power attack. Guaranteed OHKO on absolutely anything in-game.
Yeah you are not at lvl 100 but you get my point. Just teach Swellow Facade.

Juan isn't that hard. He still uses that pathetic Luvdisc. Just use Magneton for the majority of the battle and switch to a Grass type for his Whiscash.

By the way, Tropius really isn't that great of a Grass Pokemon. It's slow, has weak attack stats, has a ton of weaknesses to common types, and even it's defenses aren't particularly outstanding. If you want to use a Grass type, get a Ludicolo, Cradily, Vileplume, or Bellossom.

That's right. Sceptile is my favorite Grass Pokemon, but he chose Blaziken as his starter. It's not Netbattle so you can't simply get a new Pokemon with a click of your mouse.
