    do RBY/GSC utilize the same EV system that the newer games do? my friends and I are holding a RBY tournament soon, and I want to really train my Pokemon, but I'm not sure how to go about it ^^; like, I was planning on taking my Pokemon from RBY that I want to use, trading them to GSC, giving them tons of stat raising items, then go through the elite four until they're at level 100. would that be an effective strategy?

    I've never really been one for tournament play, so I'm a bit new to this training stuff >.>
     
    I say go ahead and go rampant in the E4. The EV system wasn't introduced until RS. I believe that GSC uses the same "battle experience" system that RBY used where battle raised Pokemon would be superior to RCed Pokemon.
     
    alright, thanks. that helps a lot. do you think it would be better to train with the traded exp boost from trading a RBY pokemon to GSC, or without it? or does it not make a difference? i was hoping to do that to have the leveling go faster but I don't want it to affect my stats in the long run.
     
    I don't think it'll make a difference in stats. Traded Pokemon are simply (as I've heard/read/whatever) described as Pokemon that grow faster.
