So, i'm building up a bunch of teams in previous generation games at the moment and I plan on transferring the pokémon all the way up into pokémon bank. I'm currently using a Togekiss in my Soul Silver playthrough and that got me thinking, by transferring it into the Gen 6 games does it then gain the Fairy typing? And can I go to a move tutor and learn all the older fairy types moves it didn't learn through levelling up in an older generation?

Just something i'd never thought about before until confronted with the situation and thought one of you may be able to shed some light on my situation!

Yes, if you transfer a Pokemon from an old generation to a newer generation where it has changed type or gained an additional type, it will become the new type. My guess is that it would be able to learn any applicable moves via move tutors/relearners, though I haven't actually checked that for myself. I believe the game references a list of the Pokemon's possible level-up moves when deciding what to allow you to relearn, rather than just letting you relearn moves that you previously knew (but forgot), so any move in the Pokemon's current-generation level-up move set should be available.
