Hey... wow, this is my first post outside of the Newb threads. Anyway...

Quite possibly the best games in all of pokemon history are Gold, Silver, and Crystal. They brought in new innovations, had a believable plot, and offered a great challenge. It was what Satoshi wanted; however, in the days of RBY, technology to make such games didn't exist. Quite possibly the "golden era" of Pokemon, it only feels right to pay tribute to them.

    Innovations

    -Night/Day
    -Berries
-Pokegear (map/phone/radio... I want one for my real life!)
    -Ability to save money
    -Best looking Pokemon
    -Time machine

    Believable Plot
Once again, Team Rocket is trying to take over, but they do it in more realistic ways than in RSE. In RSE, they get orbs, meteorites, blah blah blah. But in GSC, they take over a radio station. They cut off Slowpoke tails. Its far more believable and far less cheesy than the tales of teams Aqua and Magma.

    Challenge
Not only do you have to take on Johto's gyms, you also have to take on Kanto's. 16 badges-- that's a lot of work. Not to mention tricky puzzles and a tough E4. And all those Pokemon to catch-- however, it isn't a ridiculous number like in RSE. Also, the sub-plots are fantastic as well.

All in all, GSC was the prime of Pokemon. I love it. It's the game that I play the most. It may not be as pretty as RSE, but it is a very good game. I give it a 100/5.

    Anyone agree?

I do.I prefer G/S/C over R/S/E and R/B/Y because its a lot more interesting like Team Rocket taking over Radio Tower, selling Slowpoke tails, and that radio broadcast in Mahogany Town. Also catching Red Gyrados evolving Evee catching Electrode (in the team rocket fort in Mahogany). Also the 16 gym badges and elite four.Theres also 2 things you missed in innovations:Game Corner,Bug Catching Contest.

GSC are pretty good. This may sound hard to believe but I bought a slowpoketail for $9600 and I can't do anything with it except sell it for $4800.Plus I wonder if there is a time machine in the newer games because I traded to XD and colosseum in R/S/FR/LG/E and isn't XD 5 years after colosseum?

There was no point in buying one, cause its just a big waste of money.

Without a doubt, Gold, Silver and Crystal were the best Pok?mon games of all time!

    My rating: 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999/10

Definitely the greatest! I can either neva get tired of it bcoz it takes so long 2 actually get somewhere. 4 example: I lent Ruby 2 my cousin and on the 2nd day she had borrowed it she had beaten the Elite 4!!! That is partially to do with the fact that she refused 2 put it down, but still... u get my drift...

Yeah, they really are great, and I really liked the night and day, along with the pokegear.

Yes. The G/S/C games were indeed the best generation. Like you said, the plot is far more believable than in the other games, the game seemed more challenging than the other games (that doesn't say much, but still...). Also, the day and night system made it look even fancier. And, the Johto region had the most original pokemon (I think). One more thing that I have noticed, is that, the gymleaders don't only prove to be a challenge (atleast the first time you play through, Whitney and Bugsy are very challenging), but they also seem to have more personality than the gymleaders in the other games. I don't see why Nintendo won't make G/S/C remakes. After all, it is common knowledge, that the G/S/C games are still the absolute favourites among many pokefans.

I definetly agree. GSC are my faves. They're the longest and most interesting Pokemon games. By longest, I mean the adventure. It's long and more interesting. Also, the others are too easy.

Wow. I can't even remember how many times I've gone and played the G/S/C series. It's also my favorite. There was much more to do, you could actually catch almost every pokemon (that was around at that time), and the Crystal animations were MUCH better, IMO.

Needs a GBA version of GSC IMO.

But come'on, R/S/E games are fantastic! I know for a FACT that i would rather buy these games instead of the old S/G/C games, because there is more pokemon to catch which helps prevent bordem and there are much more intersting quest to do within the game. But i do agree with S/G/C changing the way pokemon hand held games have progessed through the years.
