I am in the process of developing the most huge fanmade pokemon mmorpg ever, and I am running different concepts through my mind regarding the gameplay. Since it's an mmorpg, possibilities for new gameplay features are endless and only limited by my capabilities.
Real-time pokemon battles is an idea that I didn't I come up with but I am seriously thinking about and I need some other pokefans and players opinion to see,
would a change in the pokemon battle system to something more real-time make you umcomfortable with the game and take away the classic pokemon battle element?
or
does a battle system where your battling abilities will play a more important role and will be another factor to winning other than the pokemon's stats appeal to you?
ok, you know how the turn based battle system works. Now imagine the real time battle system, moves have pre-set execution and cooldown times but are also dependant on stats, good timing will be an important factor to prevail. I guess this way battles will be shorter, but I will be careful that they are not too short, I mean like you won't knock out or won't be knocked out from that wild pokemon in less than 5 seconds, I think that's not fun.
