"Two Hits and a Miss" Episode Discussion

Which series is this from? I've never heard of it o.O

Oh, I haven't seen this episode (and a load of other mid-Johto and Advanced Challenge episodes) so that explains it. Which means I'm unable to review this episode heh...

Normally I don't post at these threads but ZOMG CHIGUSA WAZ IN THIS EPIZODE!
Sounds strange that I'm so excited about a filler character but Chigusa is like my own persona meme. Sometimes I can just repeat her name and do catchy songs while drawing pictures of her and hanging them up on my wall. XD well I dont do that anymore but Chiggy was the best filler character ever and it'll take a lot to surpass her.

Btw, did anyone notice how in Chigusa's house, instead of tatami, there was carpet on the floor? It happens again in Ecruteak and everyone has their shoes on. What's with that? The animators trying to be rebelious? XD

Wasn't she voiced by Lisa Ortiz? If nothing else, at least, she had a good character design. And, I never met anyone that excited about a character-of-the-day before. I tip my cap to you.

And, Jorah, no worries. You'll cover the early Kanto stuff, and that's good enough for me.

My personal musings to come later.

Maybe because of the episodes that came before and after it.

Hard to do, as I noticed how off-the-wall the episode order was, at the time (thanks, Bulbapedia). Shakes head.

The one factor that made me care about this episode were the Rockets -- I didn't care for Chigusa, I didn't care if Ash was shihan, I didn't care about anything -- just them. Their first battle was amusing, particularly as Arbok and Victreebel was thrown back in their collective faces. Plus, props to Vic as it successfully put Challenger guy's Hitmonlee to sleep with Sleep Powder.

Then, came their second attack with the Meowth mecha. God, it was so pathetic, yet I liked it. Because of their reactions whenever their giant glove returned and swatted them. I don't know why I liked it, but I did.

There are times when I wish J/J/M would leave the show, but whenever I see their performance shining in a stinker like this, I'm not so sure.
