well i lost but i have to say it was pretty much the cheapest match up possible
 
yeah I agree. Dark vs. steel is absolutely retarted.
 
and i had pretty much the best dark type team i couldve had without ubers

and another thing, jas_66 i know you said a dark type can learn moves effective against steel, well even with them, dark types arent very fast and lots of steel types has levitate or are flying so they just resist earthquake, and the only fire/dark type isnt very good for competitive battling

Best dark types for a vs. steel team would be:

T-tar
Houndoom
Spiritomb
Drapion
Sharkpedo
...Crawdaunt

...and that's it, unless you want to throw Weavile on there (and it's not effective against steel types).

Skarm alone totally walls this team (exculding Houndoom and possibly Spiritomb)

Steel types:

Skarmory
Scizor
Metagross
Lucario
Heatran
Empoleon

And that's just at a glance, Jirachi, Forretress, Bronzong and Magnezone could easily find their way onto any OU team.

Now, just to put in into perspective: the Dark team has ONE OU pokemon, 3 UU pokemon, and 2 NU pokemon.

The Steel team is comprised solely of OU pokemon.

Now is it any surprise that this is a horribly mismatched matchup? A mono-Dark team CAN'T beat a mono-Steel team, it's that simple. In all honesty, even if the Dark team were using Darkrai, Scizor would STILL wipe the floor with it.
 
it was just a horrible matchup in total and i think it was super unfair.

im not the 1 that said u have to be dark!
u should have saw wat other people chose...
and even if u played romeo (water) and won...
u would have to play Flyingtacos (Jesus - steel) anyways...
so either way u would end up playing him.
 
well you couldve made it that i faced the water type user, then it was a two way win at the end because its obvious who would win, and its not my fault i picked it because i had to pick one of the types, and usually when you make a tourney, you should make it so no types have crazy advantage over the others or that other types dont effect the other at all

thats the whole point man, when you make a toruney you're supposed to make it so people dont battle eachother who have unfair advantages against the other, and that if i made it to the finals against jesus then we couldve both one since it wouldve been an unbelieveable unfair match
 
Yeah. I agree with slowpokez. A type tournament doesn't really work if u only offer a certain set of types. Neither dragon or steel should have been included in the types because dragon has an unfair offensive advantage, (only not hitting steel for at least nuetral) and steel has an unfair defensive advantages (only 3 weaknesses, 2 nuetralities, and many levitaters/skarmory(to counter ground weakness), heatran (for fire weakness), or scizor/forretress/any steel psychic(to make nuetrality to fighting). This makes it very difficult for many teams, especially dark type teams to beat them, making this an unfair tourney. I also feel that water vs. fire is quite an unfair matchup as well. the original matchups should've been fire/water vs. steel, pyschic/water(many have ice moves) vs. Dragon, and dark vs. fire/water.
Each participant deserved to choose out of all 17 types, to make it more fair, although it is still quite unfair.
 
yes but scine u (Jesus) made it through slowpokez still would of lost! in the final!
plus the fire trainer couldn't play coz of his wi-fi!
this is not an un-fair tourney!
its up to the trainer to choose the types.
so its up to them if they choose a rubbish type then they will loose.
 
I would like to inform everyone that I have not forfeit the tourney. Jas_66 and I were both on around 4:25 - 4:40 today and I sent him multiple vms w/out response. Therefore I believe I should have at least one more day extension for the tourney.
 
if u were on at that time y did u send me VM's at 9 o'clock?
fine we get 1 extra day but thats final!
