Ubers aren't as uber as much when you think about it...

    I mean, seriously.
I'm not defending ubers in anyway, but the people who just go "OMG LIEK NO FAIR I CANT BEAT IT" are annoying me. Sure, I have hard times fighting Arceus and shiny lvl.9404042 hacked Palkias too, but there are quite a lot of ways you can put the fight back in the battle.

There are moves that can beat an "uber" up.

    Like:

Grass Knot: Pwns larger Pokemon because attack power is increased by weight, can dispatch/beat up a Palkia or Dialga

Self-Destruct: Takes an insanely huge chunk/KO out a Pokemon, and I know this by experience, knowing my friend has a Graveler. -_-

Night Shade: Say you have an lvl.100 Pokemon. Since a maximum Pokemon HP is around 250-300 range (correct me if I'm wrong), this can take quite a chunk.

Endeavor: Great Clutch move. Even if your opponent is lvl. 42432 or has some sort of gigantic HP count, if you're in the red you can cut it down to your terms.

Copycat: If you're still standing from say, a Hyper Beam, you can turn the table on the other Pokemon. Usually the move is ineffective, but every once in a while...

Trick Room: Seeing that I started with a particually slow pokemon, I love this move, especially against people who max out their EV. This turns the table on your foe and the slower pokemon attacks first. Combine this with say, a type-trump move or something, could be deadly against ubers or otherwise.

Dream Eater: I have a lot of status-inducing moves, but not enough sweepers. Not anymore. If the enemy's asleep, not only will you get the hit in, but you'll steal some of their HP! So I do have a reason to keep my Roserade.

Destiny Bond: Epic Win. Now, if you know you might lose, pulling this move out means if you are KO'd, so is your opponent's pokemon.

Confuse Ray: A simple move, but if your opponent has a high Attack stat...This could, and very well hurt.

Embargo: What's really annoying is when you've got your opponent in the red zone, and they pull out a Sitrus Berry or a Potion. With this move, not anymore.

Recover: Returns 1/2 of HP, no matter what the occasion.

Smellingsalt: Say if you have your opponent paralyzed, this does double the damage, but cures them, but simply paralyze them again and repeat for instant pain. Wake-up Slap does a similar effect for Sleeping pokemon.

This wasn't really a guide to beat ubers. I just wanted to point out, that ubers aren't unbeatable.

We all know ubers aren't unbeatable, but they're incredibly unfair, anyway.

Also, this should go in S&M.

Thats a very good analogy of list of moves to point out, sure you can obviously beat ubers, you just need the right pokemon, the right moves, and the right strategy to win.

That's a pretty big help. But my great Uber- or strong Pokemon-killer is Crunch. I just love that move. Y'know, for those super-psychics with the outragous Sp. Def. (Mewtwo, Mew, Alakazam, river spirits, etc., etc.) People don't always believe me, but as soon as I taught my Tyranitar Crunch, my friend Josh's Mewtwo wasn't as threatening anymore.

But you know what is bad? You can't lad a hit on some ubers. Most i go up against are choiced banded. I just don't get a chance, and my pokemon ARE good...

The only time you see Legendaries on PBR is when an 11 year old assembles a team of them, all caught in masterballs might I add...(no offense to 11 year olds xD) But really, even in the hands of a decent trainer, legendaries aren't all that hard to take down.

Yeah. I mght make this a complete list of strategies and stuffs against ubers but that'd be weird and my head is hurting right now.

This post sums up my opinion nicely.

There are moves that can beat an "uber" up.

    Like:

Grass Knot: Pwns larger Pokemon because attack power is increased by weight, can dispatch/beat up a Palkia or Dialga Grass is resisted by many pokemon

Self-Destruct: Takes an insanely huge chunk/KO out a Pokemon, and I know this by experience, knowing my friend has a Graveler. -_- Murders your own pokemon, quite obvious

Night Shade: Say you have an lvl.100 Pokemon. Since a maximum Pokemon HP is around 250-300 range (correct me if I'm wrong), this can take quite a chunk. Takes multiple hits to fire, uber pokemon have big attack stats and will probably get you OHKO'd

Endeavor: Great Clutch move. Even if your opponent is lvl. 42432 or has some sort of gigantic HP count, if you're in the red you can cut it down to your terms. Barely any pokemon learn it.

Copycat: If you're still standing from say, a Hyper Beam, you can turn the table on the other Pokemon. Usually the move is ineffective, but every once in a while... It can OHKO you before you use a Copycat.

Trick Room: Seeing that I started with a particually slow pokemon, I love this move, especially against people who max out their EV. This turns the table on your foe and the slower pokemon attacks first. Combine this with say, a type-trump move or something, could be deadly against ubers or otherwise. Takes 5 turns, I beleive, to take effect, your pokemon will be KO'd by then.

Dream Eater: I have a lot of status-inducing moves, but not enough sweepers. Not anymore. If the enemy's asleep, not only will you get the hit in, but you'll steal some of their HP! So I do have a reason to keep my Roserade. N00bish move, already proven unuseful in many ways

Destiny Bond: Epic Win. Now, if you know you might lose, pulling this move out means if you are KO'd, so is your opponent's pokemon. Once again, not many learn this move.

Confuse Ray: A simple move, but if your opponent has a high Attack stat...This could, and very well hurt. This is n00bish move too. Switches Switches...

Embargo: What's really annoying is when you've got your opponent in the red zone, and they pull out a Sitrus Berry or a Potion. With this move, not anymore. Yea, they use manual items in competetive

Recover: Returns 1/2 of HP, no matter what the occasion. Yea, but you need something else.

Smellingsalt: Say if you have your opponent paralyzed, this does double the damage, but cures them, but simply paralyze them again and repeat for instant pain. Wake-up Slap does a similar effect for Sleeping pokemon. Two Smellingsalts equal 1 Smellingsalt while paralyzed. and only does 120 damage for 2 turns. Unuseful.

Yes they aren't unbeatable but they are just way too powerful.

there are way to many counters for those moves, you'll be dead in no time if you only use those moves against ubers.

I really don't like ubers. justin t in a wi-fi battle used a rayquaza ageinst me. i sent him a pm. he complained. putting one uber pokemon in your team automatically makes you a uber user. Like said before, they're really unfair. i hate people who use them. they may be really young, but shouldn't really be using them. i don't feel like saying the word "noob". they should look up serebii or something before using them.

Still here. -_- and I don't use ubers.

It's just the ubers that are unfair. Not the Legendaries. Like, almost anything can take an Entei down.

The point of Ubers is that they're unbeatable without centering your team around beating them. It makes the game more fun and not as overcentralized when we ban them.

Also, Ubers vs. OU is insanely fun, no matter what side you're on. Heracross works better against ubers than you would think.

@Itachi_Uchiha - do not use such a large font size; it just hurts people's eyes.

Yet another one of those people who think Ubers and Legendaries are the same. The difference with Legendaries and Ubers is that Ubers either have overpowered stats, abilities or movepools, which are things most legendaries don't have.

Obviously you've never faced a good Uber team used by a good player, Urablur, and not all of your suggestions are good. Selfdestruct (which is inferior to Explosion anyway.) and Destiny Bond have the price of their own Pokémon and against Ubers you want to take out your opponent with as small casualties as possible. Against a good player with standard rules Dream Eater won't get you anywhere because Sleep Clause will be enabled and your opponent will just switch out. Confuse Ray is also cured by simply switching out.

And who uses Smellingsalt? Honestly, usually you don't inflict status conditions to your opponent just to remove it afterwards not to mention none of the Pokémon that use Smellingsalt have high enough stats to even stand a chance against Ubers. Ubers are banned for a reason and that reason is that their stats can overwhelm normal Pokémon without any trouble whatsoever.

The best OU Uber counter, as Shedinjask (whose post wins this thread, by the way) already said, is Heracross. Slap a Choice Scarf on it and it outspeeds and OHKOs a hell of a lot of Ubers. The only foolproof way to counter Ubers, however, is to use Ubers yourself.

    Ubers are very uber...

Ubers all have stats that will be (or some ubers dont, only considered "uber" because of their movesets and stats division) balanced out to all go into the 200's. Ubers can usually NEVER be OHKO'd without any support on an attack. (Sceptile uses Dragon Pulse on Palkia, SURVIVES!) (Salamence uses Dragon Claw on Palkia, SURVIVES!) They also have a stat in which they are superior in, and if that is used correctly, there is no telling what it is able to do. If you think Uber's that are ACTUALLY EV-Trained arent that uber... think again. They are mostly considered uber because of their Movesets, and Stats. Your only thinking Ubers arent too Uber because you probably fought another person that is lazy, and dislikes EV-training, or having no idea whatsoever EV-Training is. If Ubers are used in competitive battling, they will certaintly be OU beyond the limit, and the rest of the Pokemon used for battling will be forgotten and ran over. If Ubers are used correctly, your in trouble. They are classified uber because they are VERY hard to take out (Only a well balanced team is able to take a well-trained Uber down..)

Mkay. Your arguement leaves out one VERY important thing about ubers. Their gigantic movepools. Mewtwo can destroy T-tar with aura sphere and it can bolt-beam. Thats incredibly hard to take out.
Let's not forget it can also use Shadow Ball (Fighting and Ghost type moves together cover every type combo) and can also Subpunch effectively to take care of Blissey that can take an Aura Sphere or two, cripple Mewtwo with Thunder Wave and Softboil the damage away.

Well many players who are experienced ALWAYS know to used mixed attackers for the common SkarmBliss

dialga takes 1/4 damage from grass. grass knot wont do it.

(Only a well balanced team is able to take a well-trained Uber down..)

I agree with this particular sentence the most. It may take a well balanced team just to take out ONE well trained Uber.
