Unreal Engine for Pokémon, a good idea or nah?

As you might know, recent main Pokémon games such as Scarlet/Violet haven't been as well optimized as you'd like to believe, what with the frequent slowdowns and glitches and all. That and compared to plenty of other open world titles on Switch such as Skyrim and even Xenoblade, the areas in Scarlet/Violet have been compared to something you'd see on a PS1 title instead of anything modern. Regardless of whether it's the engine or GF's incompetence that's at fault here, it's clear something has to be done about the situation, right? Hence, I'd propose that in future GF discards it's own engines in favour of Unreal. Now, as shocking as it might sound, an engine that already exists such as Unreal could have potential thanks to it's scalability and reliable documentation. And keep in mind there's already precedence for this when it comes to Pokémon due to BD/SP being based on Unity. Not to mention the other Nintendo titles such as Princess Peach Showtime and Pikmin 4 that are equally based on Unreal.

With this in mind, what're your thoughts? Should GF finally acknowledge that their own efforts simply aren't cutting it and switch to something more reliable in future?

Only if they're able to scale their work to it well. The main bottle neck GF has I think is they just aren't given enough time for their games to keep up with the pokemon cycle. If UE lets them get work in faster/easier then I'd be all for that.
