Hey guys how you all doing. I have a quick question to ask all you hardcore Pokemon fans. I would appreciate any help I can get. I am a huge Pokemon fan and I really love the cartoon with the original 150 pokemons. It's not that I don't like the others it's just that I prefer the original 150.

I want to start watching the cartoon again but only the episodes where they show the original 150 Pokemons. Perhaps later on I will want to continue but for now I just wanna see those episodes.

Now my question is, until what episode of the tv series do they show the original 150 and start adding the new ones? That way I know up until when I have to watch.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate any help I can get! :)

If you want to be technical, Ho-Oh appears in the very first episode :P

But really, everything from 1 until 116, the end of the Orange Islands, is I believe just the originals. After that you get into Johto Journies where they add the new ones.

Yeah, Ho-oh is at the end of Episode 1, when Pikachu stops hating Ash. Ash points his Dex (who he called Dexter for some unknown reason) at Ho-oh and it says, 'No Data available' or something. Ho-oh means the start of a long Journey, or the Pokemon Company knew they were gonna get to at least Gen 2.
TBH, I'm surprised they got to Unova, but there's a rumor that the Series will end after it.

You mean the original 151. And I hate to break it to you, but Togepi is in more then half the episodes starting from 50 on.

Your surprised they didn't get sick of still making money off marketing the series and the movies along with it? And there is nothing to this "rumor" that's all it is a rumor. Until we hear an official word then there isn't much to a claim made by a Wiki.

Well... I guess your quest doesn't get past the first episode...

But technicality out the window, it's right when Tracey is introduced. BECUZ HE HAS TEH EVIL NON151 MARRILLS!! OH NOES >__>

Although not initially confirmed as such, Ho-oh does appear at the end of the very first episode. This marks the first time a Pokémon from a future generation appears on the show. As indicated below:
Ash points his Dex (who he called Dexter for some unknown reason) at Ho-oh and it says, 'No Data available' or something.
Generation II was already in the works as "Pocket Monsters 2" at the time the Pokémon anime had just started its run. However, it was delayed for a couple of years because of a development "reset" to target the games for the Game Boy Color.
