yesterday on 11/28/2020 uri geller made a statement releasing the ban on usage of kadabra on pokemon cards. for those unaware, kadabra hasn't appeared in the tcg since skyridge bc of geller's lawsuit claiming that kadabra bears likeness to him w the spoon bending and kadabra's japanese name sounding like his name (yungerer). so lol who had uri geller lifting the kadabra ban on their 2020 bingo chart
anyway this is p nice and i'm kind of hoping there's a nice kadabra promo to commemorate the ban lift, or even a small set focusing on the abra line. i double checked the whole line and while kadabra got a flat ban, it seems that abra has also had some limited appearances too (one card in particular has a move that lets him skip kadabra to evolve straight into alakazam) and alakazam has some appearances w cards that have him as a basic without the need for abra or kadabra.
also i thought abt posting this in general bc this might also effect the anime too but in geller's statement, he specifically talks about the cards and i think the card ban was always the biggest part of this situation so lol here it goes
