Lately I've been thinking of some resolutions, things and wishes that I wanted to fulfill in 2017 and beyond, and hopefully I can pull it off. In this thread, I'll focus more on primary goals, even though I won't neglect my secondary goals as well, while I'm at it. I'll put my progress as time goes on.

    My Goals:
    - Primary: I wanted to study Chinese even more, and fully understand their meanings.
    - Secondary: Balancing time between work and in here (if at some point I get some order to do).

Please take a note that this list might get updated from time to time.

UPDATE: Looks like this Victini needs some help to achieve his dream of learning Chinese! Find out how to help him right here.

Out of curiosity, I'm assuming that you mean work is taking up a lot of your free time as of recent?

Well, not quite. But when I'm working, at times I enjoyed and focused too much on getting the job done to the point that I forgot to attend some events in forums and eventually missed it, including in here. This has happened several times as well, that's why I wanted to find a balance between them because I enjoyed both working and foruming.

What's your strategy for studying Chinese, if you have one?

    Progress 1

So far, today I have searched some YouTube videos that have Chinese in it, and one of them apparently came from CCTV-4 from China. The video in question talks about tours in Singapore, and there are two subtitles in the video. One subtitle have Chinese language on the top, and the others have English on the bottom. I watched it for an hour, and I'm glad that I can understand some of Chinese words, but at times I feel like I wanted to understand more of Chinese, and I don't want to get distracted by the subtitle in the bottom if I wanted to know Chinese fluently, even though it helps me to understand Chinese at times.

Oh, and as for now, I'm having holiday in terms of learning Chinese lessons every Monday night (at least until next week), but hey, it's still the New Year. Regardless of that, I'll do my best to study well!

    Progress 2

In several hours ago, I was having some study with my dad to practice the lesson that my teacher gave me for the homework, so I studied for quite long because I wanted to make sure I remember it well. When my dad is giving a test to write Chinese letters, there's one point when I thought I forgot a word, but for some reason, suddenly I'm able to remember and nailed it. I guess this means I have to read and study diligently, then, and I'm ready for tomorrow's Chinese homeschooling lessons again!

    Progress 3

In several hours ago, I'm still doing some practice with my dad. In case you're curious, it involves writing the Chinese letters, writing the pinyin (the phonetics/romanization of Mandarin language) and also their meanings in my local language. Even though I missed a few words this time, it seems like I started to getting hang of it again, and finally I managed to do well in my Chinese homeschooling lesson in about an hour ago. It's the first step in the year, and it's still the beginning, so I hope I can keep it up, and improving much more.

Mmkay, I want to ask you guys for some help, if you don't mind.

You see, I wanted to find some more Chinese YouTube channels that might take my interest in order to fulfill my wish, but I'm wondering where to start. Can you guys help me finding any channels with Chinese language if possible? I'll give you some pointers and conditions below.

    Conditions:
    - It should mainly speak in Chinese language (duh).
    - It doesn't have to be the channel that talks about studying Chinese, but it's okay too. Some channels which talks about foods, games or anything good is much preferred.
    - It should have Chinese subtitle in it. Dual language like English-Chinese or Indonesia-Chinese are much preferable for me.
    - Most important of all... keep the content clean and safe for work, which means no objectionable stuffs are allowed to my Chinese studying routine.

If you found some, you can post it right here. I hope I'll find decent Chinese channels to study with :)
