    Theres a Pokemon "Virus" called Pokerus.

    What is it.

    The reason I am asking is because well I have now received 2 kinds of pokemon from a trade
    Piplup(GTS)
    Shiny Bagon(Professor Bob's Trading Thread)
    And the Piplup has some dot with a smile on it and when I had it in my party and went to the pokemon center, Nurse Joy said something about pokerus so I immediately put the Piplup in my box and now I have a Shiny Bagon with the Pokerus Virus.

    What is it, I want to know because I am very VERY concerned.

    yeah it's really the only benificial virus out there, the rest just give you herpes

    like how....? Be more specific.

    LOL! Thats true Thebiggamer, but can you be more specific.

    It doubles the amount of EVs won in battle.

    The virus does not harm you at all. It makes your pokemon grow more (doubles EVs). If it actually says PKRS on the pokemon, it still has it and it can spread to other pokemon in your party, but if it has the smiley dot, it still gains the benefits of PKRS, but it cannot spread to other pokemon

    PokeRUS? That's one of the rarest occurences in Pokemon! They say its chances of gaining it are say, 1 in 24918!

    It helps double what you get from EV training, or adding more points to stats that will be leveled up. Like say, if you get 2HP from a Gastrodon, and if you have PokeRUS, once you level up, you will get 4 more HP points.

    i think you'lle get better stat increases when they level or they need less xp to level up. The piplup used to have it thats why that face was there

    you wanna hear rare?dude i found a shiny starly infected with pokerus, that was the highlight of my week the rest of it sucked. stupid shiny quagsire in the stupid great marsh...

    Also if you have a Pokemon with active pokevirus and you want to heal it...

    Put it in a pc box , close it down and then take it out again... don't use the Pokecenter!

    NO WAI!!! it was shiny AND it had wild Pkrs!? LUCKY!!!

    as for what it is...

    It is a benificial Virus. When a pokemon is infected with Pkrs, it gains twice as many EVs from a battle.

    So, let's say my Machamp had Pkrs, and battled a Weepinbell. Normally, it would only get two Attack points from it, but with Pkrs, it gets twice that, or 4!

    NOW, let's say the Machamp held the Macho Brace when it battled the Weepinbell. It would gain, TWICE of what it would get from Pkrs. so you'd get EIGHT EVs in attack!

    so the equasions for finding EVs w/ Pkrs are:

    no MB-
    EPx2=T

    w/MB-
    EPx2x2=T

    Ok thanks guys for letting me know about this. But Im not much of an EV trainer but ok w.e.
    THANKS! :D

    O yea one more question.

    How does pokerus go away?

    It just wears off after a few days

    I actually dont want my pokemon to have pokerus. Well is it a good thing for someone who isnt an EV Trainer?

    It's ok you won't even notice it after a while until your pokemon have that little smilie face on their profile, but that face signifies they are now immune to it and will never contract it again, sorta like chicken pox

    It's like Pokemon's version of the 'Uber' attribute. All the stat growth on the Pokemon is increased to the next tier, or something along those lines. It's really nice to see, but it's hard to get.
