I am just curious guys, have you played Pokémon's previous forms? Or watched the T.V. series? Personally I grew up with the trading cards, T.V. show and Pokémon Red and Blue. Pokémon Go brought me back though!

I never had a handheld for the games till Gen 4.
Though I did watch the series, have a few of the oldest cards, saw the first movie in theaters, and play Coliseum.
But I wouldn't say I got into it till I got Platinum and it was sealed by white.
PS: I've never played GO.

My first pokemon game was Pokemon Blue back in 2008 (Used)
I eventually got a DSi with Pokemon Platinum. By the time pokemon go came out I already had played all the main series games, collected a ton of cards, watched some of the anime, and had bought merchandise.
So I was already a full fledged Pokemon fan by the time Pokemon Go came out.
