The only thing of note is the new intro actually, but we covered that, so sighs...
The start with the eighth season finishes the Spoink plot point, and play on the pearl aspect with Clamperl. But that doesn't save the episode, as the recycled plot (with the same Giovanni fantasy but unlike its ancestor, no snappy dialogue with it) drained on and on.
If it wasn't for the Rockets' bit with Clamperl (Chimecho made the scene) and then later with the battling with the Rocket Pokemon, this would be quite unwatchable (also, notice how Ash's Pokemon are weak against the Rocket Pokemon ((Grass vs Poison and Bug with Cacnea's attacks)) and yet he still wins, almost perfectly? It's not the first time the Rocket battles have ignored type advantage but this is one of the more obnoxious). So for those who wish Jessie and James would leave the show, watch this with a marathon of the prior filler episodes this season and then make the call.
You'd be surprised how extra bland the series would be without them.
Although Clamperl's dub voice was nice. Don't know why.
Overall, one of the worst episodes, the Rockets and the new intro barely saves this. So let's reflect on something more meaningful, so...four more episodes till the Groudon/Kyorge showdown!
