discuss and comment on todays KWB Pokemon episode, #371: The Evolutionary War

I sure liked it. Although why would the Deepseatooth and Deepseascale both be brown unlike in the games?

the episode was about the gang going to these islands around mosdeep, then they find out there are 3 island ,island a,b,and c on island b clampearl evolve into huntail or island b clampearl evolve into gorbyss , island b and c had a rivalary between for which pokemon was better ,the gang met up with profesor birch and went to do research and found out the there are caves on both islands ,island b has deepsea tooth and island c had deepsea scale in the caves which helped the pokemon evolve, and like usual team rocket tried to steal them but to no avail.

    Did You Notice

    1) Trainers, which Pokemon would be the best choice to battle Mudkip? Treecko, Torchic or Mudkip?

    2) Team Rockets Kingler Robot had a bright red Z instead of an R?

    Evolutionary War review

I'm working on memory because I rather don't want to rewatch this one.

In terms of branched Evo episodes, it was okay in that we got to see Birch and his in depth research (At least he's like Oak in that respect by being in depth with them and interact with them) and his bubbiness.

I was curious how May knew Keith and Nancy's name, considering I don't think they were introduced (This isn't the first time 4Kids has pulled this and won't be the last: Tatsumi/Tyson in Talking About an Evo... and Alex in the first AG Shroomish Episode, forget the title).

We get the schism of Huntail/Gorebyss. Such themes have been repeated but at least the Rockets' animated attacks (look at Cacnea's pin missile as it hugged James, the most animated sequence in the episode) and the islands' distinct patterns, and the item props (the tooth and scale) distracted the cookie cutter writing.

Maybe the Kingler Z mecha was based from Mazinger Z? Hmm...

But the real treat was the Verizon "can you hear me now?" joke by James and Meowth. They're not usually so timely but it always amused me so it was nice to see 4Kids' take on it and use the Rockets to spice up boring episodes.

Which has a lot lately. Note the past episode the end of summer and note the Rockets' role to it vs the overall episode, they make quite a difference.

4/10. The Rockets' make the episode. As usual.

    One more episode till Groudon/Kyorge!

(I write much longer reviews, just...don't wish to go into depth here, or at least too extensively)
