2nd Gen What are the odds?

    So, I was playing my Gold version yesterday and got to Chuck. He sent out his Poliwrath. I battled it for a bit. Long story short, he managed to pull this off:

    Poliwrath was confused AND paralyzed. Yet, he managed to attack with Dynamicpunch. Not only did he actually HIT with Dynamicpunch, he also got a critical hit.

    Let that sink in for a moment. A 50% chance of hitting itself in confusion. A 25% chance of being fully paralyzed. A 50% chance of hitting with Dynamicpunch, and a 6.25% of getting a critical. He managed to bypass all of these.

    Could someone calculate the odds of that actually happening, please?
     
    I think that sometimes (moreso in r/b/y) when your in a parafusion state and you haven't managed to hit for many turns etc , the rng gives you a break , same can be said for the other side (chuck in this case)




    however this rule and the normal mechanics don't apply in the battle tower , the freeze chance is lowered for example so in say ten uses of my articunos ice beam its more then likely not going to get any freezes , and the same for the npc too , I think the rng is very fair in gen2 games regarding all this normally *goes to turn on stadium2 at the thought * lol
